Peter they say that there is an enzyme in powdered detergent that they can't liquify in liquid and that powder will actually do a better job cleaning your clothes... I personally think that all of these liquid detergents are what's making our washers smell and why we have to use cleaning cycles to make them smell good again... The liquid clings to the outer tub and builds up over time making it scummy and the dirt and hair start to cling to the scum and that's what makes the machine start to smell... Let's face it When our mother's only had powdered detergent to use, their washers never smelled and they didn't have to put the machine through any kind of cleaning cycle because everything always rinsed out!!! Thanks for the video and Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year...

You're absolutely right Robert, and have a wonderful holiday. I agree with you 100% never had these issues in the older machines years ago when I used to wash clothes for my mother, and we use powdered detergent Dash 100 years ago because it was low sudsing we needed that for the GE filter flow because it made so much suds. My mother got commercial laundry powder because it was cheaper to buy the whole tub, like a little barrel.

The fabric softeners that folks are using makes the machine get gummy. I bought a used machine that I had to take apart and deep clean it. There was no way any cleaning cycles of any kind would have gotten it clean.

You know Pete I really don't understand what all of the fuss and hate of this particular washer is about maybe because some people are so stubborn and small minded when it comes to educating themselves on this washer and trying to understand how this washer does its job. I love this washer and in fact I'm proud to call it my friend because she's an adorable washer. I will never get bored of watching this washer in action because unlike some people I'm very open minded to this kind of washing style. Okay so it's an "agi-tub" washer but I'm pretty sure there were other kinds of washers that performed this "agi-tub" style but as soon as Speed Queen decided to be creative about it everyone jumped down their throats and I've read and heard everything what people felt about the TR series young and old and quite frankly I find it petty and childish. Pete I have to give you my props on opening my mind into liking this washer because it's not as bad as many other people are making it seem. The hate on this washer is crazy and as I stated before no one and nobody else put a gun to their heads and forced them to spend thousands of dollars of their hard earned money on a washer if they already knew that it wasn't gonna satisfy their needs on washing performance. At least Speed Queen took a leap of faith to try something new. My profile picture is a photo of the TR series washer and dryer pair. I don't have one but even if I did have one I'll be forever grateful. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's okay but what people should take into account is that a washer's job is to wash their clothes and that they come out clean whatever brand of washer they choose. But the numerous complaining and telling other people to not buy a Speed Queen washer for whatever personal reason it may be is just petty and ridiculous. Once again Pete thank you for sharing your videos on this washer and educating other Speed Queen enthusiasts on what it can do. Sorry for my rant but I will always support Speed Queen and continue to give them and you especially my props.

I couldn't have said it better myself you hit every nail on the head. I think the machine works fantastic. If I had to get rid of all my other machines, I would keep this one because it is the most versible machine. It's modern yet built like an old-fashioned.

I had a Cabrio washer before I got this. The cabrio was better in every way minus the reliability. The computer board started messing up but that could be fixed for around 300. I just don't get the hype of the speed queen. They don't do anything all that great and after the spin cycle the clothes are still soaked which just makes for longer dry times. It's like a prius don't look all that great no bells or whistles you won't win a race and girls aren't impressed but it will last and give you little issue
@petermaz7019 ай бұрын
Do you have a speed queen that you can make that comment the speed queen TR series spins much faster than any Cabrio could spin you are lucky you're spin at 600 RPMs the speed queen TR series spins at 820 RPMs. The versatility is far superior than any Washer out there especially a piece of junk Cabrio.
@shawn_1439 ай бұрын
@@petermaz701 yes I have the tr7. I got it to replace the cabrio. A quick search I see the cabrio spins at 1000rpm . I can tell you from personal experience things came out of the cabrio much dryer than the tr7. I wouldn't really say it has been junk. I can't remember when I got it but it's been around 8 to 10 years ago. Never had any issues until recently and even then it's still repairable. I just decided let's get something new. Started seeing all this great talk about speed queen and gave it a shot. I just don't think it's all that great especially for the price. Reliability isn't really all that important. It takes an hour to run to lowes and get a new washer installed. Time will tell but I'm sure the speed queen has hiccups on their way to 25 year life span they claim
@petermaz7019 ай бұрын
@@shawn_143 yes, you could be right we don't know what the future brings. From the days when you bought your Cabrio, the whirlpool line has definitely cheapened the machines that are out there now probably won't even last as long as your Cabrio lasted. Now I certainly don't mind changing machines I've had my share, but as far as versatility, there's nothing out there. Trust me I've had many many machines. This is what I do if you like different settings and different adjustments there's nothing like the TR 7 the other TR cannot do what the TR7 can do, you could adjust cycle times you name it, it could be adjusted. Even if you accidentally use the wrong water level, the machine will put in the right amount whether you have it on auto fill or not other machines just can't do that. That's what I meant. I'm sorry to call your Washer junk. That was wrong, but I think that they are making junk machines now across the board.

To be very honest with you yes it does clean clothes. I don't know what they claim that it doesn't clean you just need to know how to use the machine and use the proper cycle. If you know you're putting in really dirty clothes, you have to put it higher than medium soil level put it on heavy soil or it even has max soil level.
