Question 33. Is not ask about maximizing profit? so if we assume p=140 that is mean he gets 0 profit, but if we assume p=70 he gets 9800 profit. So the answer should be D, right?

D is correct. He solved for the x-intercepts. This parabola opens down, so the vertex would be the midpoint of each of these. (0 + 140) / 2 = 70. We don't care about the profit (y-value), but just the x-axis (pastries), which is 70.

Equivalently we could find the axis of symmetry = -b/2a to get the max number of pastries or attempt to complete the square to get the h value of the vertex. I do like the approach listed by @dana2238 to find the average of the roots.
