Just want to state the obvious here folks. With the Hoyt being 10lbs lighter and an inch shorter in draw length the speeds will naturally be slower than the other two bows. The Hoyt was thrown in purely to show my thoughts on the Carbon bow.🤙🏿

I was actually thinking of getting theX80 this year, but I'll have to check out the V3X. Some may question why we need the heavy draw weights. Where I live in Eastern Oklahoma, we have tons of wild hogs, offering year round hunting. I've seen arrows from 70lb bows bounce off their shoulders!
@PrivilegedBowhunter3 жыл бұрын
There are a bunch of reasons to shoot 80lbs. It's weird to me that it bothers people. The same way it would be weird if someone walked up to me in the gym and said I should lift less weight or run less.🤣🤣🤣
@JacobSchmittDeerHuntingSchool3 жыл бұрын
I’m not saying not to get an 80# bow but I still don’t think if you dead center a big hogs shoulder it’s going to make much difference. They are a very solid animal. I think its going to be tough to push a broad head through it with any bow.
@BOOMER-rs5qn3 жыл бұрын
@@JacobSchmittDeerHuntingSchool You don't think? Are you speaking from experience or from KZbin videos? I've probably killed more hogs with bows than most bowhunters have seen. The extra kinetic energy gained from 80lbs vs 70lbs is a night and day difference.

@@BOOMER-rs5qn I am just a realist bows and shoulder bones don’t mix. Get a 100# bow shoot a big hog in the shoulder bone and I still don’t think it’s going to make much difference. I never went out to test a bow to shoot through hog shoulders I have a 30-06 if I want to blow through their shoulders and it doesn’t even come out the other side. I do know that for a fact. I max loaded 165 grain 30-06. These are 250-300 pound hogs. Shot at 25-30 yards. I was really just talking and I feel really strong that it’s not going to make much difference. I bow hunt a lot and have killed more deer with a bow then I have anything but what the heck do I know I’m just a country boy. LOL!!! I just seen we’re you said a 70# bow bounced off. I just don’t see a 70# bow bouncing off and a 80# bow laying the smack down with the same impact spot. I don’t think 25fps increase is going to make much difference. Shot placement is what feels the freezer. Like I said what the heck do I know???

@@JacobSchmittDeerHuntingSchool I agree with you mate. You can have all the poundage in the world but if you can’t hit your mark then what good is it. It’s like people who are poor shots with a rifle tend to go for massive calibers to make up for their inadequacies. Mind you, I’d shoot an 80 pound bow. I did when I was a young man. The Bowtech had you almost as uncomfortable as the Hoyt. You should rename the video - The 3 stages of Chicken Wingedness Measure the draw lengths of the Bowtech and your Mathews and set them equal. @@PrivilegedBowhunter yeah it’s a real problem on the forums to. People are using the excuses of wrong mods, incorrect draw length, faulty chronographs etc… it’s just not a fast bow. Some Bowtech fan bows just can’t accept it. I think they would be better off accepting it for what it is (slow) and get mad at the Bow manufacturers for fudging the number by that much. That’s why reviews like yours are very important! Because you can’t go by the numbers the bow company puts out because they lie. People need to watch a review or shoot the bow themselves and get a reading. Bow companies are way to comfortable lying at this point. Bowtech should be ashamed!

Here is the crazy part, adjusting for IBO the Hoyt was the fastest with the two heavy arrows running equivalent 336 IBO. Bowtech comfort way low and Mathews slightly lower. From my research the Hoyt will run faster towards the longend of the short draw mod, such that you will actually get more speed from a 30.5 draw than a 31 draw, which works perfectly for me, but not so much for big guys like you. My guess is the hoyt in 80, in 31 draw is slightly slower than your Matthews, so you likely chose the perfect bow for you. Thanks for sharing
