❗ VERY IMPORTANT❗ 5:50 I just realized that I forgot an important point here. You should leave this on if you have a lot of RAM. Like upwards of 32GB. If you have below that I would recommend setting Fusion Memory Cache to off as it will only eat up your RAM and slow the system down. Extra info: RAM faster than even your SSDs n stuff but if your system runs out it will come to a crawl.

Hello, is it not possible to delete the Fusion memory cache from time to time like it's possible to delete the optimised files and Proxy media? Thank you!

Thanks so much for this tip. I was trying to figure out why fusion playback would chug even with literally no nodes added beyond Media in and out.

really informative usually am the type to skip through the video to get through the bs fluff youtubers tend to add to their video but all the information you added to supplement the video really make it easier to understand as you go through it making this an all in one resource thank you man

Speeding up the caching process This helped me! Thank you!! The issue was - Fusion kept loosing some matte footage and the whole process kept breaking again and again

Bois... If you're looking for how to speed up and slow down the PLAYBACK speed and not the CLIP speed, here's how: (For Windows -- sorry, I don't know what it is for Mac) Speed up forwards playback: Shift + L (Hold shift and tap L for increasing speed) Speed up reverse playback: Shift + J (Hold shift and tap J for increasing speed) Slow down forwards playback: K + L (Hold K while pressing L for forward movement) Slow down reverse playback: K + J (Hold K while pressing J for reverse movement) You can find these controls in the Playback tab in Davinci Resolve (top left of screen) Later boiiiiis 🐸🎺

Hahaha did. A Video on the same Topic also just 12 Hours ago XD Drive types is one thing but People complaining about h264/HEVC codecs is 85% of editing speed. I always transcode the stuff since Proxys will never show the whole details :)
@terr201142 жыл бұрын
lol I’ll have to check your video out. I agree. I remember when I just got serious about editing. I upgraded my pc and decided to test some RED raw 8k footage and the playback was so smooth. I thought, “yeah! I can handle any edit with this.” Later I’d make a timeline filled with tiny 4k mp4 files and watch my system cry 😅. I did forget to mention transcoding. A great option if you don’t want to be switching your proxies on and off but I tend to stick to proxies and optimized in the interest of time.

I would not recommend setting anything to realtime in task manager, things like this can be forgotten and if the program has a bug can be a real crash cow later after you forgot about that setting.
