I like the minimalistic tone of these videos. No loud intro, no fast cuts, just straight facts and drivers feedback.

Better drivers will be consistent with better times, being fast demands alot of focus. The more experienced the driver and more he is familiar with the track he will go faster with less focus. Drivers should use straights to relax and also not overpace them self , otherwise their concentration will abandon them

Speed may win a race, but consistency wins championships.

Damn straight. You can win a championship without winning a single race, if you're always in the points *and always finish

I have because of its legend become very fond of the Nurb...not having a updated LMP1 CAR yet I had to settle for 2010 LMP2 car which I ran in the SIM hard but safe at a race consistent pace...14.7 miles at 6:26minutes....2 or 3 laps at a time no crashes no resets...in the middle of the mountain I flipped the open cockpit car over a wall an d into a nice German family's front yard....I asked if I could see the replay it was not good right on my head perfectly upside down my one mistake a 30 foot drop right on me bum...thank God for simulation...

Agreed. That means I am better driver than my friend? We've did karting few times (30 laps race) and he's got sligthly better single lap time once or two times (26,5 vs 26,6 seconds) where I did more than 25 laps below 27 sec margin. He's laps actually varied btw 26,5 to 28,5 sec. It means I got better race pace right?
@liamclancy99554 жыл бұрын
@@Nudel-nc1cp it doesn't mean your a better driver necessarily, it could be that nobody has ever told him consistency is key

I've just started playing computer simulators last month and usually have the worst of the fastest lap times like 1:53 me; vs 1:49 fastest, but finish in the middle 9/10 times, trying to avoid crashes. I almost never hit anyone or crash the car. However, in the future, going faster will probably put pressure on me, increasing the risk of a mistake. I guess, to win, you need both consistency and be able to do fast laps... the fastest average lap wins,.:simple.

It's also about making calculated risk/reward choices. Going 105% for a couple of laps to overtake someone that slows you down even though it's risky can be worth it because the reward outweighs that risk. Going 105% from the start to the end though has very little benefit on your time while having a high risk of ending the race early.

To me racing online has become a major psicologic exercise. To keep calm and concentration is the hardest part. It's kind of competing against yourself somehow.

The last guy who talked at the end of the video, he sooner said it and I find it the greatest tip of all, especially for young or new drivers - about mental approach, to think through everything. 2:47

This is really helpful and inspiring to here these statements of real drivers about how they think and deal with the true enemy - yourself.

Consistency....but not if you are consistently slow. But seriously, never try to be 'fast'..speed is the end result of getting everything else right. As Keith Code says, speed will come all by itself!
