Speedrunning Celeste Was A Mistake...

I played through Celeste and 100% it. Loved it. Then i got into mods, and it was incredible. Once I got bored with the mods, I came back and speedran the vanilla game. I had such a great time doing it. After about a month into going pretty hard with it, I got my PB down to 38:38. This was 2 years ago, and every now and then, I'll do a random speedrun every few months. I usually get just under an hour. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Its just so frustrating and satisfying at the same time.

Funny speedrun trick I use for chapter 3: I do middle path first on huge mess, then I go BACK for the crystal heart. instead of grabbing it though, I just go right by it and drop down to the exit, then dash back up into the room (pretty sure this is called a bubsdrop, its also used in 5b speedruns). Because the heart room is the same room as the top path, if you hit retry after re-entering the room, it spawns you in the top path room rather than the heart entrance. this lets you completely skip one run around the central room with the only cost being a slightly more difficult bottom path.

That respawn trick in 5b is called "Bub's Drop" and it's a lot easier when pause buffered :) this was a super fun watch and reminded me of when I started learning to speedrun! :D

If you're interested in more Celeste, as an experienced player, I would highly recommend playing some modded levels. There's stuff for every skill level and I think it could be fun.

As a piece of advice for anyone who wants to speedrun celeste. DO NOT DO ALL THE SPEEDRUN STRATS. START SPEEDRUNNING BY GUST LEARNING WAVEDASHES AND GOING THROUGH THE BASE GAME. IVE GOT A 52:38 BY DOING IT THAT WAY
