I always learn something from you, Andrew. Happy holidays to AU! But if there is anything I learned in RC, it is not to put full confidence in mysterious, no-name receivers. Now I always use reputable ones. Save a model and spend a little more on reputable stuff that has a QC code.

Good timing ! Mine JUST arrived and I’m going to set it up on a sukhoi 30 . Would you ever do an episode on how to set up a jet with flaperons and tailerons ?

I don't have a suitable plane for that, but it would be similar to VTail setup

Great video. If i have a twin motor plane, would i have to solder 2 separate wires to the board to deliver power to both esc's? could a splitter work safely?
@AndrewNewton17 сағат бұрын
That's OK for most models. Big motors and high current draw would be best to use both ESC pads

Hi, Thanks for the video. I have a question though, how would I configure an airboat with two motors in Inav? I have he same flight controller as the one in this video and was wondering how I would mix and set up differential thrust on the two motors to drive a catamaran around on water. I haven't been able to find a lot of resources on setting up the outputs so far. Thanks
@AndrewNewton10 күн бұрын
Just have to choose a plane or wing with Diff Trust in the mixer and adjust the values in the Yaw boxes, then delete roll and pitch lines. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3a1o6VjfJmUoac
@Nugget-FPV10 күн бұрын
@@AndrewNewton Thanks, but would this not cause the flight controller to overreact as, unlike on a plane, the responsiveness on a boat is much slower and may have lots of attitude changes along the water? or will this not be an issue if I use the boat present in INAV? cheers
@AndrewNewton10 күн бұрын
Yaw stability is very minimal in INAV and you can adjust the weight as you wish. You might be the pioneer with this, just have to try it and see how it reacts. Boat preset would be OK but you still have to add the second motor
@Nugget-FPV10 күн бұрын
@ I ended up just using two motor outputs and, on the mixer tab, set 1 and -1 on roll and yaw values according to which motor it was. It works perfectly now

Hi. Thanks for the video. For a flight controller which rc transmitter and Receiver to start with? I have flysky i6 and ia6b receiver setup but I don't think I can connect a FC with it. It has sbus and ppm. Sbus can work with it. Maybe you can also make a video for a Budget transmitter and receiver which can be connected to a FC easily. Thanks
@AndrewNewton15 күн бұрын

Im working on a Stallion VTOL and it would seem to me that the battery would connect to the power distribution board for the F405 and then to the three ESC's?
@AndrewNewton18 күн бұрын
Stallion looks interesting. There are pads for 2 ESCs but you would solder all three ESC to the two sets of pads. Keep the battery and ESC connections separate if you want current measurement.

What if someone is on spektrum receiver and transmitter. How can i do it with the flight controller
@AndrewNewton8 күн бұрын
I don't know Spectrum but it is supported by INAV. I believe you can use a satellite receiver plugged in to the SBUS pins, or SRXL2 somehow.

@@Discopuss ever wondered why we don’t use the technology from 1896 any more, because its outdated. Hmm wonder how this fits with my point of view that Sbus is outdated. Oh wait, thats my argument 👍🏻

@@jas-FPV Wow! So are you chucking out all your USB devices because you refuse to use old, outdated serial bus technology? My point is: in life it is best to know what you are talking about before sharing your opinion. I don't mean to shame you for your ignorance, you did that yourself. But if you'll take my advice as it is intended, I promise it can only be to your benefit. Happy flying, and try SBUS, you might be surprised!

@@Discopuss I’m not saying serial protocols are outdated, I said Sbus is getting old and is old because there are better ways available. So calling me ignorant when you don’t get the point is telling. You seem to not know anything about Sbus2, Fport, Fpus, Crsf and all others that are faster, more channels and offer telemetry and daisy chaining of stuff like servos, sensors and anything else. Sure its usable and the basic serial protocols, but thats just it, its basic…
