If you've seen our V12 (High Speed) review then you won't find many surprises here. The High Torque version is basically the same wheel but with more powerful motor. Ian's range is as usual quite low at just over 27 miles of extreme riding and to fully utilise the power of this machine you need spiked footplates and side pads.

I've never had any problems accidentally turning it on or not putting the kickstand down correctly. Those are user errors

You're really victim blaming here. They are issues with usability\design. The fact that it's easy for some users to make these errors makes them issues with the product, not issues with the user. They're as minor as they get, but nonetheless. I love that speedyfeet pays attention to such details. Nobody else does this! To me EUCs are about convenience first, and every little improvement to their convenience makes them better.

@@JMX246 what you are doing is the definition of victim blaming. The wheel had the aforementioned ergonomic issues for the host and he called them out. That fact that you didn't see those issues doesn't change anything.

He is no more subject to victim blaming than I am for you disagreeing with my comment - so if you want to follow your own advice please stop victim blaming me for having a different opinion - thanks - someone so in touch with others feelings must recognize this - any further comment opposing my point of view will be taken as further victim blaming on my part

Nice review. I ride a V12 HT and suspect that you were not chucked off the wheel due it having too much torque. You were not going crazy fast and apparently also not accelerating hard, so you could not have been hanging forward and thus had nothing to do with torque. I suspect that it has more to do with the V12 HT tire being pumped up rock solid hard, out of the box. If you do not deflate the tires a bit, when you start riding the wheel, it will *not* give you any suspension compared to a more deflated wheel. That was my experience; I was almost thrown of the wheel twice in my first week of riding the V12 HT with "stock tire pressure". Just let some air out of the tire to regain some suspension, but note that it will make the wheel more vulnerable to sharp edges / curbs.

Are you sure that you have production version of V12HT? Mine has completelly different mudguard, much bigger and better. I have no problem with the screen, I can see it clearly during sunny days. Also no issues with the button ank kickstand. Very satisfied after 400 km. But mine V12HT has problem with the pedal angle, sometimes are too leaned to front, sometimes more to back and I always have settings to -1°. Calibration helps but I have to do it very often, almost every day...

I love the attention to detail, such feedback about minor issues like the power button position and kickstand issue is very important. Please disregard these rude people in the comments acting insecure about it. To give feedback like that is the only way to get better products in the end.

Change the stiffness settings, brings the stopping distance right down.

Riding a V12 HS here, with no pads, and I've noticed the settings play a big part, sounds like you were riding 100% (stiff) with no pads, whereas I find say 60%/40% (accel/brake) split is better with no pads. What % were you riding Ian with no pads?

Thanks for a great review. Being Swedish I'm wondering what sidepads are? How far you'd get in a city environment? What's the price? How many recharge cycles until the battery becomes shitty? Is it worth the investment? Thanks!

Standard battery lithium batteries will be 3-5 years ( 500-800 charge cycles) , where they drop to 80% capacity

Sidepads are the pads u put (usually with velcro) on the sides of the euc to help u have more control of the wheel

I'd say battery will last you at least 30k km if you don't abuse it with constant high current (full-throttle accelerations, going long hills, going at max speed, discharging too low, charging too quickly, doing all this stuff when the battery is cold). There are reports of V11 samples with slightly smaller batteries closing in on 30k km, and they don't complain about battery degradation. Whether it's worth an investment, you have to specify "compared to what". Compared to a car to get around the city? Absolutely. Compared to bicycle or using public transport or a cheap scooter? No, it will come out more expensive.

Such a beautiful wheel and I really want one, but the scares you get when reading all the bad experiences people have had with the V12 makes me not press the order button :/. Hopefully Inmotion manages to adress all V12 issues before the V13 is released.

How many do you think have been sold around the world since they came out? Hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? And how many "bad experiences" can you list out? 10? 20? You guys need to get a grip or go find a nice safe hobby like knitting. Because you know what? We ride around with enough batteries to power a small city wired together by someone with a single digit age range on one wheel next to traffic at near top speeds on a device programmed to keep us upright. This is hardly a perfect science.

@@CrunchyTire So you're telling me bad QC and bad products should be allowed out on our streets because safer hobbies like knitting exist? Lol, what. How about asking and requiring better and safer products that allow us to experience the products without the risk of hurting ourselves. I wouldn't know how many 'safe' units have been sold already, but when you hear and watch negative reviews with questionable follow ups with the supplier, you can't not be critical. I rather be critical and still enjoy a hobby that can just get better than hide in the sand and be satisfied with a 'knitting' hobby.

@@CrunchyTire one cut out at 25 mph+ is more than anyone needs. As long as Inmotion does not use quality parts and puts more intelligence as well as dilligence in its firmwares I will def skip Inmotion wheels.

@@CrunchyTire Exactly. There are fewer than 10 cutouts that I heard about. My V12 runs like a champ. This guy sounds like chicken little running around crying that the sky is falling.

There should be an independent audit of the design, components and firmware of all EUC. Yes, bad things happen, but right now, we depend on the good will of the manufacturers. And we know how that worked out right? We, the users and riders are the ones finding all the issues (cut-offs, unexpected acceleration, battery fires, etc.) instead of being properly addressed before a device hits the market. We, users, are NOT testers!

Seems like a preview V12 HT with light blue screen characters. Mine is white and bright. Also this wheel comes with a lot of possibilities to tweak around. At first, I felt also that power pads could be necessary because I could not trigger acceleration easily enough. But modifying the balance just one degree forward solved completely the issue, and I felt just like skiing. Seems like an under tested review.

I have a high speed and my friend has a high torque. I ALWAYS go farther in distance on one charge and my battery always has more available than his on the same settings. He wishes he had my top speed and the extra torque he has is almost negligible when compared to mine. Also, my wheel was much more maneuverable and nimble than his was. I had the desire to sell my HS to get the HT when it came out until I realized how much he had desired mine. His temperatures are always higher than mine and after riding too long the wheel would hit a threshold of 30km until it cooled down. For my needs, the extra speed, distance, nimbleness, and lower heat are much more important that climbing hills or taking off slightly faster. Your needs may be different. I do want the orange rim though.

At what battery percentage are you no longer able to go 35mph? That's about max anyone should ever ryde a 16", so as long as you can still reach close to that at a decent battery percentage, I'm sold.

You shouldn't ride any wheels without side pads over 20kph. They have to include some sidepads in the box now, a lot of models are actually being sold in regular tech-type stores with 45psi stock tire pressure, combined with high top speed a tiny hole in the ground will kick you off in the air and it's very bad for our comunity because people will think this is what EUC riding is like. Buying EUC is actually easier than buying any of the available sidepads meaning there are alot of people who ride casually getting preventable injuries. I know good pads are like $200 but they shouldn't be, they should be mass-produced and included in the box! Also breaking, you have to have them for emergency breaking!

Don't look down for speed. If you must know your speed use a watch or phone but ideally you should never look for your speed. You should feel the speed. If you feel like you are going too fast or too slow, then adjust accordingly. PSA: Always slow down around people. I love the accent to!

Harry seems like a nice guy, but reviews by someone who barely understands the topic and has little experience aren't all that beneficial so this new direction for the SF YT channel is a bit odd. Regular viewer here, but I had to give up after the first few minutes of this video and frankly other recent videos on this channel. Again it's not Harry's fault. He's doing a fine job given his knowledge and experience, but the end result isn't great.

Idea is supposed to be a split video, beginner / new rider feedback (as the new rider / first time rider makes up ~70% of those buying) and then split with expert rider.

I for one appreciated his point of view as a newer rider. I’ve been riding a little over a week and watching pros do shit I’m months away from doing doesnt give me the proper experience I’ll have. I have the V12 HT and I needed this so thanks.
