we had trouble getting it to bind to a new Apprentice, it would say that it was bound but no control surface movement. Bound it to a different radio and no problem, back to the DX8e and nothing. The guy had not yet registered his radio, would that make a difference?

Registration wont make a difference.

I just got this controller for my birthday And got everything working but can't get my gyroscope to work. I have the spectrum AR 631

Will this bind to Apprentice S with SAFE? It took me lots of tries to bind it successfully, and when I did, sometimes the SAFE didn’t work and I was having range issues where the connection would pulse. I have a Timber X and it works perfectly

It will work. When binding stand a little away from the plane. Sometimes if you get too close it doesn't bind well.

@@SillMarketing yeah I tried that and it was still having issues. I switched out the receivers and it’s fine now

@@diegoarpino2080 what do you mean by switched out recievers? I have just bought the dx8e and have an Apprentice S too. Any tips for binding are much appreciated.

@@adrianstirn1255 I have two apprentice S receivers, I swapped them out. Second one works fine. Make sure you follow the binding instructions exactly as the manual says. Are you having any issues?

FLAT OUT RC Thanks. I use the left stick to drive one crawler and the right stick to drive another crawler on my DX7.

I bought a FrSky. Taranis X9D Pro SE. 2 years ago. Most Spektrum stuff just seems too expensive for the features. It seems that Spektrum are making lots of sales thru the Bind 'n Fly market. I only build or buy models constructed from balsa & ply.

Try learning how to set it up. You can't expect every copter to just automatically work with any radio. Tons of info on doing that.

Spectrum dx8 does work with 180cfx.Any helicopters made by eflight work with dx8 on DSM protocol.
