A brief, unplanned, and poorly-organized overview of the Seiko 62mas, with a comparison to other Seiko models and non-Seiko skin divers to put them in context for Seiko's production.

I have a very beautiful 6217 MAS which I have owned since I bought it in March 1967. But the one you worked on is just superb. And Sabrina is obviously very proud of you and rightly so.

What a great little video this was. How cool to see all these classic models together. You did a great job presenting them in context and in chronological order. I am a Seiko fan and learned some things from this video...thanks! Subscribing.

Keep it, Mr Klein. It fits that collection so beautifully, they need to be together. And who deserves it more than you? Thank you, as usual, for a great video. This watch is special, don't let it go.

I have a very beautiful 6217 MAS but the one your worked on is certainly outstanding. And while you are very modest Spencer, Sabrina is obviously proud of you.

I have a Long Island Islander skx homage and it has a similar dial to the 6105 Plus a day function.

What is the most accurate Seiko quartz. I’m looking for something that can compete in accuracy and style with the GS 9F without the price tag. Thanks!

How did you fill in those empty markers with the lume? A brush or some improvised tool?

Very nice collection u have there. I think there was an intermediate watch from 62MAS to 6159 hi-beat: the seiko 6215. Rare watch even in Asia.

Sounds like your eldest watches the Stradman auto channel, her message was word for word. Consider gloves when working on your car during atleast especially greasy repairs. I for one don't care but obviously you do since your hands are on camera at times. Thanks for the great Seiko history content. You are one of the great Seiko historians online today !

62MAS is IMHO as iconic as any Rolex diver.

More, if you ask me. For one thing, there are so many Rolex subs in the world. They're easy to find. For the most part, they're just a watch. Their price tag isn't justified, at all. 1/10th retail and resale values would be more reasonable. A 62mas is a watch for a true collector and aficionado, and I say this as someone who owns a Rolex sub. One good 62mas is better than three Rolexes of your choice, if you ask me. The Seiko 6216 / 6218 / 6246 models are head-and-shoulders better than their Rolex equivalent made at the time. I've had both movements apart simultaneously, servicing therm next to each other (both mine). The Rolex is less refined, uses much older tech, and a lot of corners were cut. The 1570 family is good (great balances), but the 62xx Seiko movement family blows it away.

Thanks for the history lesson. Suggest you wear gloves to keep your hands clean and protected when doing heavy work on the MG GT.

I seriously regret selling my non running bezelless 62mas for 300 years back before they became so sought after, I couldn't source a bezel and thought I never would, now they are reproduced. DOH! With that mint caseback and dial, that is a hard decision you have Spencer, If someone were to offer you 6K........

I say keep it. You can always make more money but you can’t make this watch again. If another comes along, sell one of the two.
