That was a great video Hannah! For a video idea I would LOVE a beginner/ intermediate ballet barre.🤩 I’ve been attempting your other barre you did a year ago that one is great as well! ( I absolutely love your tutorials!)

I love videos like this one where you get a fly-on-the-wall kind of insight into the life of a ballerina. For someone like me who always wanted to do ballet as a child but wasn’t allowed to I find it really comforting to be able to experience those childhood dreams through your vlogs. So thank you for taking the time to make all those vlogs 🙏💕

🤩I think learning to listen to one's body and working through accordingly is one of the hardest things to learn as a young person. I'm not a dancer (just an amateur beginner), but I remember how I pushed myself in grad school until I got myself sick. You are learning way earlier than I ever did. So nice your parents could visit and see you in performance.

Fille is such a happy ballet and I'm so looking forward to seeing it at Sadler's Wells in a couple of weeks - I just hope Oscar 'behaves himself'! I saw Luna at the Hippodrome on Saturday and, despite reading the iffy review in the Guardian in advance, really enjoyed it, especially the Arielle Smith section that you were in, Beatrice Parma's duet with Javier Rojas and the contributions of the children's choir. Whoever named the sections is obviously a fan of your channel given the second section (the one Regan was in) is named 'Learning to Dream Big'!!

Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed Luna. I have personally enjoyed being so involved with this ballet. Funny enough I was second cast for the conductor character in the Dream Big piece. Unfortunately they decided to only run 1 cast mainly for the shows, but I did enjoy being part of the rehearsal process!

It's incredible you manage to make any vlog when you are so busy! Thank you! 🤩 Your costume is very pretty, and it's always fun to see your friends! I love how supportive your parents are! And I know you are a wonderful daughter too! Here is an idea for a tour destination for your company - Maybe you can pass on the idea to whoever makes the decisions! It's the Bangkok International Festival of Dance and Music! This is "one of Asia's largest and most important landmarks in the performing arts." This 5-6 week-long festival has been held for 26 years in September and October. Its origin was to honor the Thai Royal Family. Since 2008, the Royal Patron is HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The Festival organizers invite ballet, contemporary dance, operas and orchestras. The Bolshoi Ballet attended this year for the first time - they did three performances of Swan Lake! Tokyo City Ballet performed The Nutcracker! The China National Opera House performed La Bohème and Turandot! Almost none of the performing groups are touring groups so I thought since BRB is a touring company, maybe you (BRB) would be interested? The KZbin channel "Ballet Reign" attended the festival, and interviewed the organizer! I can't attach a link, but if you look up the channel, it is the most recent video: "Rasina Bajaj on impacting the world through Thailand's largest arts festival" from October 5, 2024. There is an emphasis on inspiring youth, and getting kids interested in the arts while letting the parents know that a career in the arts is possible! It would be really fabulous if you (BRB) could go! Thank you so much for the video! Wishing you all the best with some autumn-themed emojis! 🙏🤩🧡🌾🍄🦌🌽🍇🌅

🤩 I can somewhat feel how you handle these long days at work. As a city carrier assistant with the US Postal Service, I would sometimes do a full route plus a split of another route, ending up with a 10-hour day (sometimes more). Can't wait to see some of the Luna show footage.

🤩 how has it been going from a very classic ballet to more contemporary? What have you had to do /prepare differently? Any different ache and pains? Also how is it dancing on flat and en pointe? Be prepared, Hannah: I'm about to give you some "tough love." I know you're still learning how to pace yourself, and it sounds like you are definitely managing your energy better, but you're not doing yourself any favors with the extra practicing! Class is for technique, rehearsal is for choreo--That's IT for show days/weeks! A quick run through after warm up before the show, if necessary, otherwise you HAVE to save yourself for the performance. You are going to burn yourself out. Remember WHY you dance. I've noticed that in performance vlogs, you're often saying stuff like, "only two more shows, we can do it." I know you're tired, but I don't see the joy that should come with doing what you love. (When I danced, I LIVED for those moments on stage, and was always sad when the run ended. However, everyone's different, and maybe you love class more than performing?) So, you need to slow down your "extra" practicing. It's NEVER going to be perfect, but you have prepared as much as can reasonably be expected, and you will enjoy things SO MUCH MORE if you haven't exhausted yourself beyond what is sustainable for the duration of the run. That being said, I'm glad your debut went well! As for video ideas, is it possible to place a camera backstage to film some snippets from the wings? Or film just yourself in class? I'm not sure what other ballet vloggers you watch, but maybe check out Tirion Law's videos for ideas on how/what to film. Or Isadora Loyola. Lori Hernandez is another one to watch, though she only does "shorts." And even though she's still a student, Alicia Rui Lucchesi has started doing vlogs and is also finding her "voice." One last thing--I've already spoken before about me being anti-religion (recovering Catholic), but I am very PRO-spirituality, and want to tell you that you have a deep well of strength within yourself, that YOU are strong all on your own. All your strength doesn't "have" to come from or through God. Take that with a grain of salt (or just don't take it at all, that's fine). I know spirituality is a deeply personal thing, and I don't want to tarnish your relationship with your God, but I believe you're selling yourself short. Just my 2 cents. All in all, I wish the very best for you, and I will watch WHATEVER you post!!! ❤🤩❤ (Oh, and I did watch the livestream the day it aired, and it was great seeing you rehearse!)

Thank you so much for your concern. I appreciate and validate what you said about rest. It's still a balance I am trying to strike with myself. Self practice is a sort of therapy for me so I struggle when I cannot do so much of it during busy show periods, but I am learning more and more that there is a time and place for it in other parts of the season. I think this season in particular has been really intense with the premiere of Luna alongside a full length ballet and being on for every show (which I am super grateful and happy for). It is a new way of working for me since my rhythmic days and slowly but surely I am understanding and respecting what my body is saying and learning what it needs. I really would love to film more backstage but our stage management has pretty strict rules around filming and photography so I struggle to capture any content during or around performances. Maybe this will change one day but right now I must respect the regulations they have in place. I try and take as much as I can from social media that BRB has put out of performances to try and paint more of a picture of our day to day. I think I need to figure out how to do this more creatively. I do appreciate and validate your suggestions though and I will think how I can incorporate them more in future videos.

Hi Hannah, it's so nice to have a peek into what other top companies do around the world! You had a very though week.. having show everyday is difficult because it can get exhausting, not just on the physical level, but mentally too! Also late nights after shows are what tire me the most, sometimes is hard to fall asleep after the "show adrenaline rush"! 🫠
@HannahMartinRG3 ай бұрын
Yes!! I have found the less I rush to try and get to sleep the better I actually rest? Sounds weird. But in my first season I was always paranoid about getting as many hours as I possibly could, whereas now I am more chill about it as I know I can get through a day even if I haven't had quite as much sleep as I would have wanted. Somehow knowing this really helps me to sleep deeper and better because I am no longer nervous about whether I can make it through the next day or not.

This is the life of a professional ballet dancer. It’s all about showing up every single day and repeating the same steps again and again in order to improve. How can she film different things when this is what she does every day? It’s much more about seeing her small improvements physically and mentally and following her journey for those who are interested. I personally love her videos and can see the growth and progression throughout. If it’s not your cup of tea you don’t have to watch.
