It's June 1st and you know what that means! One of the biggest LEGO release dates of the year, with nearly 100 new sets releasing including the Barad Dur Lord of the Rings set, 2 versions of Simba from Lion King, new BrickHeadz including Kevin from Up, a Batmobile from the Batman Animated Series, and loads of new Harry Potter, Disney and LEGO City sets. We could have spent thousands, but tried our best to limit ourselves to a £500 budget and get only the sets we wanted most of all! What did you pick up on launch day? And which sets are you looking forward to the most?

Finally used my £275 gift cards and discount to get the Barad-Dur for £74.99. As soon as it was leaked, I knew I had to have it. Can't wait to put it next to my Tower of Orthanc!

So pleased you’ve launched a Lego channel. I’ve watched you for years on your other channels and always wondered if you were into it. I look forward to seeing what content you have coming up. I always wait to purchase my sets, don’t like paying retail for them 🙈 There’s always good deals on in the like of Smyths, Argos and John Lewis, that’s where the majority of mine come from. I just need a Lego room like you now as abound 90% of my collection remains sealed currently 😟

Nice video mate..some great purchases there. I picked up a few bits inc. the Up Brickheadz. So tempted with Notre Dame set... Looks amazing seeing it built in the store. Be good to see you guys build this. Apparently each bag is unique to how the original was built. It was built from the back to the front. At the end of each section, rather than it looking like a half built Lego set, it can be displayed as a set piece 👍🏻

I got the Castle bed and Breakfast Friends set. I really like the Friends sets as they are full of vibrant colours and the variety of builds. Plus the exclusive rare pieces that come with the Friends sets in particular.

It was my first time today lining up for opening time in Liverpool. Strange feeling waiting in line for lego. I got the yellow truck and the Up brickheadz. They did the same as you local store with the Barad Dur set with people asking for it at the till. Not really my thing. I would choose Rivendell before Barad Dur. Only saw one person pick up the Notre-Dame set in the first twenty people paying in front of me. They opened at 10am and if you got in before 10.30 everything new was available. I think I'm going to pick up that car transporter when double points comes along soon. The two green aston martin speed champions and the merc black suv and yellow sports car sets are new today.

Ditto, I've kept out of Lego, but I've just ordered Barad Dûr & the BMW M1000RR lego technics set, as I'm a massive bike nut as well as a LOTR fan. Can't wait to build them up and find spots for them.

As a fan of Animated series, I'm not so sure about this one. Bit pricey for what it is, especially when you compare it to the Original Classic Batmobile when that was released.

I was only at the MK store 8 days ago and was much much quieter as you can imagine. I even had time to chat to the staff for a long time which only enhances the buying experience. I’ve never been to a day 1 release event but maybe one day I might 🤔

I've never had a 'must see it opening day' kind of attitude to things (I have seen movies on opening day, but that was just convenient, not deliberate) so I don't think I would find myself in that situation. Also, none of those sets appeal to me this time around. But I do like the artistry of things like the Encanto house and the Simba.

Milton Keynes. We’ve got the last 4 months of release days now, and this has been the busiest one by far. Clearly lots of people very into Lord of the Rings, which seemed to be what most people were buying

Yeah, I noticed the new Batmobile was August in the states too. Interesting that they have different release dates! And even more interesting that Europe is ahead for once!
