New York in December is the best place to visit. I grew up there and I HAD to take my husband to the city in Christmastime so he could see for himself what it’s like. Nothing like it for Christmas! Horrendous place to live though lol! Fantastic place to visit and get my child-like nostalgia on. There are so many places that are so precious to me. And I got to show my husband the beauty that the city takes on during the holidays. ❤

I loved the beautiful morning view of Millbrook Mountain in the Shawangunk range from your auberge. I grew up just a few miles from there and had the same view every morning.

14:58 Love the heel detail and composition. They're gorgeous shoes overall, yea. I always dreamed of living in New York too, I went there in the early 90's and stayed for a short while with a friend who lived at West 33rd I think between 6th and 7th. I tried to get work there so I could stay but they'd cracked down on people without green cards at that time (like right when I got there it was happening, before that it was easy, such bad timing) and I had to leave and go back to London as I just plain ran out of cash. The people were friendly, the food was great (and cheap) but I loved the atmosphere the most and all the old buildings. It's a modern city sure enough, but it really does have a sense of the old and historic about it. I wish I could go back there, maybe one day I will.

The city has changed so much in the last couple of years, it's hardly recognizable as the fabulous city I've lived in and loved for so long. It's really a pity, and I hope it will one day return to it's former glory. In the meantime, so many people are packing up and moving away in record numbers, as well as businesses who can get better deals in other states - this affects all of us, unfortunately.
