I hope they continue with this protected area and eco tourism. I took my one and only travel trip to Xcaret Mexico, which is a eco park, and not only was the place generating income, but the type of income, being people wanting an education, benefited everyone. The residence of the area were dedicated to ecology. We all learned about ecology, about history of Mexico from a Mexican point of view, and met like minded people from around the world. This is good for everyone.

What is intriguing about the sleep cycle of the sperm whales is they must go from their conscious mind directly into their unconscious mind,15 minutes in that sleep state is healing & very necessary for an intelligent mammal that large.

Thanks for this❤❤❤Macrocephalus Physter? This cetacean is my all time favourite animal. I have many books on them that ive gathered over the years. Ive read eyewitnesses accounts of so many very sad & also uplifting events involving spermwhales. Theyve the biggest brain of all animals & they have parts of their brains that are so dedicated to communication they are so sociable. God save these beautiful ocean dwellers❤j

So AWESOME, the whales, the scientists and the island!!! I LOVE that the island has declared a, what did they say? 300 square mile radius, Sperm Whale Sanctuary/Reserve around the island!!! Now that truly is AMAZING!!! It was also cool to see the pigmy Orcas as well. I only became aware of Pigmy Orca a few years back, and I'm almost 53. They(Orca) are usually referred to as whales, but they in fact are not whales at all, they are the largest members of the Dolphin family!!!!

In this context, "cayo" simply means "small island" of which there are probably thousands in the Carribean, so using "cayo" as shorthand for "Cayo Santiago" is a bit disconcerting. Yet, it would be great to be able to work on any "cayo" in the Carribean, on this kind of fascinating project.

Sperm whales freak me out, don’t quite know why. I have had one on one experiences in the wild Pacific with Grey whales and Humpbacks. In fact on my wedding evening I counted down and called up two grey whales who breached 100 feet off our deck when I got to zero. Down know how I did it except a kid at the wedding has just said to me “we haven’t seen any whales yet! “ . That’s when and why I started the countdown.

I worked in India for years. The monkeys are interesting snd litte devils. They adapt probably next to humas. They can be carring as well as ruthless. There is a tendency i feel to over relate to humans. They followed the males for safe areas and find food. Thats monkey troop division of labor.

I lived in Dominica before the Hurricane, and the locals do NOT call it nature island. They usually call it the "Armpit of the Carribean." The place is EXTREMELY underdeveloped. The younger gen gets frustrated and they leave.
@KarlaBedminister
@KarlaBedminister 4 ай бұрын
I've lived there all my life and we do call it the Nature Island or the Nature Isle even in songs and elsewhere in the Caribbean. I've never heard anyone call it the Armpit of the Caribbean here or abroad and I've been to manh countries on holiday who know about the Commonwealth of Dominica. I don't know what your definition of underdeveloped is but we are not EXTREMELY underdeveloped and there are lots of younger gen on the island and a lot who still return to live before retirement from seeking jobs overseas. They return to build, open businesses, farm, raise families and work in public offices for the government with their degrees.

@@rcisneros8567 I had internet less than a year later with electricity and I have to this day. I also had phone communication from FLOW and DIGICEL the day or 2 days later. We use data sometimes if we are away from the main source at our homes, work or government buildings and how soon did the Prime Minister contact others in the region? We could withdraw from ATMs, credit unions and banks, shop and begin clearing roads and reroofing buildings the day after the hurricane. I don't know where you were but I was here before, during and after the ordeal. I went everywhere in the country to see how it was affected and how people were coping. I even gave food and clothes from my home and left my wooden house of 2 bedrooms so a family could stay for 2 years while they organized themselves and I strengthened the house. Only my roof was gone. In developed countries they stay without water and food and sewerage issues weeks after a hurricane and displacement up to 10 years. In less than 5 years people have rebuilt houses and strengthened them even done new houses in Dominica. FEMA and Caribbean heads of states were in Dominica within the 3 days so people did hear of Dominica before 3 days and were contacting relatives, etc. via radio and whatsapp. Even sending packages from neighboring French islands via boats and our fishermen went out before this 3 days plus our agricultural produce were being sold in local and outside markets on schedule.

God loves you and takes care of you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this great universe and has complete control over it. And the greatest loss that a person loses in this life is that he lives while he does not know God who created him, knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. The great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and then you have the choice to believe in it or not. I advise you on this now before you do not have time to do that.
