I think I've watched this video maybe 3 times since I sometimes have an issue understanding all the concepts used - especially the names as they all remind me of each other, ex. spermatocyte and spermatogonium, and so on. What I did realize today was that there are subtitles that can be turned on!!! What a great help!!! Definitely recommend turning these on if you are taking notes!!

Interesting information on how sperm is created. Its called spermatogenesis. Sperm production takes place in the testes. Spermatogonium are the stem cells of the male reproductive system. They go through a process called mitosis which generates the exact replica of the original cell and they also create another one that goes back to the specific location. N = 23 chromosomes.

BIO327-02 Apparently, I watched these videos out of order, so I was confused what N meant in the previous video, but this explanation of N was really helpful to understand it. I never really knew that through mitosis and meiosis, the cells had full 23 chromosome pairs and only breaks into half, becoming haploid spermatid.
