Put the roof top x tent on some type of roller so when it goes up it can roll back and lock in, will give you the ability to let it lean forward at the front hinge.

Hey guys it is a s1 gq leafy Mq mk had both diff centres on drivers side and came with sd33 sd33t and l28 Gq s1 came td and tb with rear diff in the middle

Yep ol mates got a gq leafy...Mk/mq ute cabs also WONT drop onto coily GQ chassis! From personal experience.

We had them in south Africa as the Safari, TB42. I used to tow boats at Dept of Water Affairs with them in the 90s. 3km/l with a 15foot double axle on the back ;-)

It probably would have been easier to create a tub wide pull out bed rack for accessing gear in the tub, than hinging your RTT up. Pull out tub bed base (on rails) have been commercially available from the US for a while now. I'm sure you can find a design that will suit your purpose and build one.

Get a 1.4 plus OT, I have the 1.4x currently and my only disappointment is that the mattress is crazy thin, but also cant really keep any bedding in it!

Do not ruin it with an X tent. You get a rooftop tent for it to be an easier all rounder when offroad. That means easy access to everything.... I'm with Sam any day of the week

Rare find - You just destroyed it. I’m no Nissan fan , but cutting off the head board and those hooks 100% stole its uniqueness which actually made that rig iconic. Nothing special about the cab, it was the tub which you destroyed.

the x tent would work until you put the headboard on with the sides on it you wont be able to reach the clips without those big modern sides it would work great as you could reach around it but idk how you plan on reaching the clips around the headboard

It not an MQ because the they didn’t come out with the tb and td motors and they have a different interior, that’s a series 1 gq ute. I use to own one and ended up pull the tub off it to put on my coil cab

This is just a leaf cab GQ, this were available in series 1 and 2, they are also known as a mine spec. GQ series 1 ute had the coil option too.

UAE gu patrol utes come with tubs and oem flares. They may share similar parts to GQ tubs. Maybe the guys importing cruiser tubs into Aus could hook you up with Nissan bits.
