I wonder how many people realize just how melancholic a song this is. "Fire fire has killed their desire to not be cold as they expire" "Screams from the staring" "Flames scorching them though they'll be out soon" These are not simply metaphorical. This describes people being jettisoned into space via their ship's airlocks after being set aflame during a terrifying accident. I can not deny how absolutely beautiful the song is; each note exceedingly well placed, how well the song was executed, all that is awe inspiring. As is the imagery. It's so vivid... the description invokes a feeling of consternation, a wish you could jump in there and save the people's lives. But... we can't... when I first realized all this, I was nearly driven to tears. Thank you, SPG. Thank you so much. I don't know what I would ever do without your magnificent tales and tunes. I might resort to trying to make such things myself, despite not having anything more than raw talent and only the most basic of training... I could never thank you enough, simply for being who you are and doing what you do. -One of your devoted fans, Airk

First time I ever heard any of their songs was at a concert. I frankly had no idea what to expect beyond "quirky robots". The energy in the room was *amazing*! I have never seen any crowd so happy, eager, and polite. And somehow, despite the number of bodies in the room, it didn't feel crowded to me. They opened with Suspender Man. I was floored. I've been euphoric ever since and plotting how I will get to another show. :D (One fan's experience. YMMV)

The story behind this is that they've taken a spin on the tradition of steam punk. In the Victorian age and industrial age children and women worked in factories, they were locked in in order to not take breaks or leave the conditions. In some instances, a fire would burn everything, along with the women and children locked inside, they take this piece of culture and apply it to an example of space as a resemblance of the future. 'They'll be out soon' refers to the flames being put out right before bodybags with the remnants, infamously photographed came out of the factories..

This song is so hauntingly melodic. I've been a musician for a long time, and you guys have something amazing going here. I don't think there's a song you have done I don't love. I know this was David Michael Bennett's solo song to begin with, but to see it be transformed into a SPG song, and the amazing harmonies, and LIVE. . . god damn. You guys are awesome, and I'm going to have to put some bucks into flying out to see you guys, since I'm sure South Florida isn't in your current plans. Keep it up, this stuff is too amazing, original, musically superior and innovative to not become something really important.

Sam really adds a lot to their performance. Vocally, the man just kills it. His character is adorable as well.

I've loved this song since the first time I heard it, but this performance so showcases how profoundly SPG are improving as musicians. Every year you all are leaps and bounds better than last year, and one day I imagine you won't be able to help being mainstream because no one can resist the amazing quality.

This song is the best song I've ever heard, I think. Like, I actually think it's my favorite song in all of lyrical writings. sometimes it gives me chills. I can almost see the scene in my head. Plus, just... "Burns much brighter when oxygen is the supplier" it almost is a metaphor for humanity on Earth, even. But alas I am simply a traveler of the stars, come to SEE WHUT YOU GOOOOOOT. SHOW MEEEE. I LIKE WHUUUUTTT YOUUUU GOOOOOOOOTTTTT.

Geez this group is just amazing. They play so many instruments, simply stellar style, and do a killer live show. Why haven't they gone on something like the x factor? I'd love to see such a talented band actually get what they deserve.

You can absolutely feel the emotion here. "Oh no!" on Vice Quadrant packs one hell of an emotional sucker-punch too. The voice acting for The Astronaut in the second half is a fantastic and powerful performance.
