Your testimony was overall helpful. I’m so happy to have sonography sister post her experience of taking the spi board exam online and to provide a precise analyze of what it’s like taking the exam! By next Fall 2021 I will be entering into my sonography program! I’m so beyond thrilled and grateful for that day to come 😇😇😇! Thank you so much for preparing me for my sonography program, Kristy! Much love and blessings to you.

Hi Kristy, I've been watching your videos for a while now. I have a question on how exactly you managed your time when it came to clinicals and classes etc. when you've first started till now. Also, what are the challenges you faced as a sonography student in terms of finding time to study, work at clinicals, amount of homework, dealing with "bad patients" and keeping relationships stable? I'm fully aware of how rigorous these next 2-ish years will be and I feel that I can tackle it thanks to your videos. I've recently changed my major this spring semester at my community college here in AZ because I thought biology or computer science is for me, but now I know in my heart I had always belonged to helping people and I think DMS is right for me. Also, will I be expecting a lot of all nighters when I begin my journey? Thanks!
@KristyDMS5 жыл бұрын
Hey Mario! Geez, this is complicated question. you can feel free to message me and i can give you more specifics but basically balancing clinical and class was hard because you did 8.5 hour days and you needed to find time to study. it is most likely time management. i lay out all my assignments and test in an agenda and pull through. i do not have much homework but i do have assignment and labs that time up physical time because i have to go to school and scan. dealing with mean patients is something you learn naturally as a person. there are mean people in the world and as a sonographer you cannot take it to hear at all! you have a job to do. Don't let any of this hold you back though!! school is scary when balancing with life but it isn't too bad when you learn yourself and how you can manage it the best way you can.
@TheBest218ful6 жыл бұрын
Hey. Congrats on passing the exam! So the green book is enough to study for the exam you would say? And study how exactly? You read and took notes for each chapter and then quizzes yourself from the questions in the back? I have to take my exam ASAP. And really don’t know what I should use/do to study. There are no more seminars scheduled for the rest of this year so I’m freaking out basically. Thanks!
@KristyDMS5 жыл бұрын
i literally just used the book. i did not need to take much notes, there are such clear specific definitions and pictures that guide you through it all. and i am a big notes taker, but i can just read the book and understand it. the questions in the back help you test the trick questions they may have to

on the specialty exam or physics part do they ask a lot about bioeffects, and artifacts? do they show a lot of pictures of artifacts and you have to name which one you are looking at? are there many formulas you have to solve or are the formula questions multiple choice? is there questions for example. what formula would you use to find mitral valve area or aortic? or what is used to find regurge? or pap or rvsp? are there case study scenarios given?
@KristyDMS4 жыл бұрын
its going to be only ulrtasound physics based. it will have images on the exam, but it doesnt matter what specialty track you are in in order to answer the quesiton. its all dependent on what you learn in ultrasound physics. those questions you were asking is more for you specailty board exams! not spi

Hello, I would like to ask you for some advice if I may. I graduated with my bachelor's in Biology in 2016. Unfortunately, it is a BA and not a BS. I struggled a lot with my science courses then which I did had to switch from a BS to a BA in biology. I still really love the sciences and see it as something I can do for the rest of my life. I am just scared of whether or not I can do it or not. I am not confident in my abilities at times and I am scared to apply to some of these programs. Do you have any tips or suggestions? I am at a really low point in my life and am ashamed of what I have to show for it rn. :/ I apologize if this post is kinda sad and depressing
