Chicken Livers Peri Peri (or Piri Piri) is the dish that I associate most with my time spent in South Africa during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. I went with a work colleague every Saturday to a restaurant on Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton and we had Chicken Livers Peri Peri there every time. My work colleague has since past away, but the fond memories remain. If you like spicy and are not liver adverse, then give this taste explosion a try 👍

Very nice, Christian. A recipe totally in my taste. And chicken liver is so cheap, at least here in Romania. Normally I make the liver a bit dryer with onion, some bullion and port wine and mashed potatoes , but will try this. I have had it in SA too, but that is like 30 years ago. Thank you for the reminder! Looking forward to the next episode, cheers!

Thanks Micke, yep, cheap here to like most offal. I like the sound of your way to make chicken livers as well. One recipe on my todo list is something I learned to love when I lived in Berlin, “Kalbs Leber Berliner Art”, veal liver the Berlin way, which is basically with apples and crispy onions, also served with potato purée. Next up though is something with Crab and Potatoes 😉 Happy evening!

@@ChrisNilsonGorgott the Berlin veal liver with fried apple sounds absolutely great, do it one day. Apples can be such a good companion to various meats, especially pork and offal. I also love chicken liver simple yakitori, both with just salt or with sauce among the other skewers. Tomorrow though kidney a la moutarde a l´ancienne with cognac. Looking forward to crab and Mr Potatoe. I must say that crab is quite rare here in Bucharest... wish I was in Hokkaido.
