I love your content and the honest, raw conversations about your experience as a POC leader in tech. So many people have treated you like 💩 and I'm glad you're using this KZbin as a way to help others that are going through the same struggles as you. I also don't like people's perceptions of my age but I'm seeing it as a way that as I get older, I'll still look young hahah.

As a chronically positive millenial working for a tech company, just wanna say that being a smily and bubbly professional should absolutely only be perceived positively. If not, your organization has some issues they need to think through 🤷‍♂

totally agreed! but it was a really unfortunate experience that brought my self esteem down a lot. i felt that i didn't belong and i dont have a future in this industry. it was a big reason why i started doing content as well!

Will try and make your next post for questions! 1. Do you think it’s hard making lasting connections with coworkers are switching companies every 1-3 years? 2. How do you deal with snide comments? Something that makes me feel weird is when people comment that girls get tutoring opportunities because of schools promoting diversity or find it easier to get hired because tech companies are trying to promote diversity. Like it discounts how hard we work.

I'm sure you have got this suggestion before, but can you do a video on apps and tools you use as a pm ? Specifically around managing the 100s of tasks and requests a pm gets.

I have the same biggest insecurity: looking too young for my age (30) to be taken seriously at work. Doesn't help having a high pitched voice too 🥲. Even though we've got babyface, but make up for it with our fierce personality 😂

Hi Chloe! I love your videos as I am just starting out my career. Can you elaborate why should we max our 401k if company only typically offers 4-6% match? I'm trying to save for a $2 million crack house in California so I figured the money is more worth it to me now than retirement. Thoughts?

Hi Chloe! I really enjoyed watching this 😄... And I totally relate with the part about dealing with problematic engineers 🙄 (also co-workers from other disciplines). I left a comment on your video about negotiating salary and stuff, so I'll leave it here again because I haven't gotten back to the recruiter yet 🥺. I'd like if you could give an advice on how to use a batna (competing offers) for negotiating. I've had a final stage interview with a company, they gave their budget and I told them I'll get back to them. I have to get back to them tomorrow.. I also have a competing offer from another company which is a bit higher but I'd really like to work for the first one. How do I tell them I have a competing offer? And do I need to tell them the exact amount the other company is offering? Thanks 🙂
@thebokchoyboy
@thebokchoyboy 2 жыл бұрын
hey I'm sure Chloe could give much better advice than me, but you can be straightforward that you have a higher competing offer - they deal with that all the time. You can mention that you would like to work for them, but the numbers have to "make sense" for you. Don't give the exact amount, give a range, which I think Chloe mentions in her negotiation video. Information is leverage, don't give them all of your info

Investing 1 year earlier doesn't make that much of a difference. If you had invested 1 year earlier from today, you would be down 6% versus someone who didn't invest, who is down 0%. This is of course assumes you are still saving money, and not just blowing the money away vs investing.
