Spider holster (Camera) tool modification

I had to add this, {noticed comments a year old}. Spider must have Listened or learned, now they sell adapters to fit most tools so there is no need to die the threads!

I’m a professional photographer and I’ve been using their camera system for years. Super solid and love it so much. Literally just ordered their tool versions and didn’t even think about modifying the camera stuff. Damn. Super smart. Great video.

I have been using the same holster with the drill handle wrap on the job every day for a couple years now. It's a good solution. I am seriously considering using your mod. It would be nice to get rid of the handle wrap. I will say though that the lock on the holster part stopped working a few months in. The detent is only plastic but I have no need for the lock. Thanks for the great idea and video.

Thank you so much for your comment. I do have to say a love it! It took a bot to get use to it but it works like a champ. My worry was that the plastic parts I would break. Its totally worth the hassle of cutting the threads! Great luck its a great mod

Thank you very much. Since the mod I’ve have zero problems and absolutely love it. The metal connector is super tough and it never comer out when I don’t want it too. Play with the placement on your belt, one thing I have noticed in the back of the belt I’ve found is the worst placement. I have mine just oven my left leg. I find is super easy to stow and to access my drill/impact

The tool website and the camera division are two separate sites. You you stay on the camera site all the parts will fit. You can’t mix the two divisions. Sorry I just saw your comment

Oh it does I have a 12 V DeWalt drill that it works fabulously on you just have to get the different days to fit the thread pitch

be aware ive just tried this and metal ball drops straight through belt clip don’t know why when your video shows it working it’s as if the balls are to small and it’s genuine spider product if anyone knows why let me know

That is a weird thing I’ve never run into that. Now, if you try to mix the tool version with the camera version the two are not compatible. The tool holster is larger in diameter. Im very interested in how this gets straightened out.

@@n3qdz yes after a bit more research the power tool holster is not compatible with the camera metal ball fixings looking for bigger ones that will work keep you updated 👍
