I dont think that Peter would be sidelined in Spiderman 3. I think and hope that we again get a Miles spinoff game wherein Miles will take care of the city while Peter works on his personal and professional life. Come the 3rd installment, Peter will return after taking a much needed break. The 3rd game, how it's shaping up to be, is very personal for Peter with Dock Ock and Goblin out for revenge. Cannot have Peter sit this one out

I like miles being in the game. You get seasoned Parker and at the same time you get the young Spider-Man in miles. Fighting off world ending villains, and highschool/young teen coming of age drama problems.

I know for sure, there's no way Peter is gonna be relegated to a side character. I guarentee his role in Spider-Man 3 will be a little smaller, but still a sizable role. With all the Green Goblin build up and the carnage symbiote, he has to be playable in number 3. I mostly took the ending as Peter taking temporary leave to get his life outside Spider-Man in order.

MJ taking down the Hunters is explained by the simple fact that when she and Peter left to Silver Sable country in the Miles Morales game MJ got training while there. So it isnt just MJ is OP cause she is a reporter. She has a Sable issued pistol and training to act. I wish they showed it better in game but they gave a reason for why she isnt as useless as last time.

I don't mind them making Miles the main Spiderman, but I think its way too soon. I don't think he's anywhere near Peter's level to take on NY by himself. I agree with you, it felt like Peter was weaker in this one and it was forced that Miles was at his level. Also, with the way the ending was teased with Osborn, it would be a terrible idea to miss out on Peter going up against his true arch-nemesis. That should be the way they end him being the main Spiderman imo.

Personally, I love what they’re doing with Miles. In the first game, he was just some dorky kid. In the DLC’s, we see him slowly figuring out how to be Spider-Man. In Miles Morales, he finally becomes Spider-Man. In this game, he proves himself to Peter. (Which I doubt will be sidelined in Spider-Man 3.) I think it’s a very natural progression for his character. Plus, I love Miles in these games! Spider-Verse Miles is great, but these game’s truly made me fall in love with the character. I get people like Peter, but I don’t understand where all the hate is coming from. The only thing that makes sense to hate on is the new suit. But I think Miles Morales was a great example of Miles growing as a character. They didn’t do that as much in this game, but that’s why it’s good that they’re making him the main spider-man, so we can see him grow, and maybe even be a mentor for Silk eventually.

I don't think that the next game would be Spiderman 3. There was a lot of buildup and character development in the previous two games prior that making Spiderman 3 the direct sequel feels rushed. Personally, I think that the next game would be a Miles game with the same (maybe a bit smaller open world). In this game, you would fight a new threat while Miles would bond with Cindy and her father. This game would focus on the sibling relationship with Miles and Cindy since the villain could be an old friend of Cindy's with Miles focused on saving the villain in order to not repeat what happened with Phin. Suring the game, At the end of the game, Cindy would get her powers in a scene similar to the near end of the first game. Miles would reveal his identity to Cindy and would offer to train her. However, unlike Miles, who jumped at the opportunity to become Spiderman, Cindy would be more hesitant as she would be afraid of getting her father in danger. In DLC, we could see Cindy agree to train with Miles to better master her powers. Miles realizes that Cindy needs to find her own way rather than following his path. As a result, Miles does not pressure Cindy to become a spider-person and live her own life. Eventually, Cindy realizes the drive Miles has for saving people and is inspired to become Silk. The two would then portect New York with Miles being the senior member and Cindy being the rookie. Eventually, we would get a Silk spinoff game where Miles might be injured or something and she would need to take over as the Spider-person under Peter's guidence (good chance to build up their relationship as well). In the post credit scenes of both games, Norman and Otto would work on the G-serum with Norman offering to test it out on himself. In exchange for helping Norman, Otto is given the resources to build a new Sinister 6 (many of the pervious members are dead, and many potential members are reformed). This would lead into the final game of the series, Spiderman 3, with Peter, Miles, and Cindy being playable. This would be a perfect contrast to Spiderman 2, when Peter and Miles were playable. So, yeah. That's my prediction. I know it's long but let me know what you think.

I am not worried to much about the suits they don't do anything and tendrils need to match the Symbiotes.They need more Missions with just Miles and Peter with and using they're Powers as Spidermen no more MJ missions. Well if Peter isn’t playable or killed off in Spider-Man 3 I won’t play it. I really hope they’re just setting up another Miles Morales sequel game because an official Spider-Man 3 with Green Goblin as the main antagonist but not facing off against Peter would be so fucking stupid. Norman doesn’t even know who Miles is and neither does Doc Ock. So it would completely take any personal connection between the hero and the villains out of the game. At the end of the day here’s the facts. They’re teasing Norman becoming goblin and they’re bringing back Otto. If the writers make the villains focus on Miles it would be terrible and stupid. Their hatred is tied to Peter. If the story isn’t mostly about Peter and they want to fight miles it won’t make any freaking sense. If they made Spider-Man 3 Peters last big game and send off and then move forward with Miles I’d be satisfied. But they can’t sideline him now from a narrative standpoint it just wouldn’t make sense.

I think odds are Peter retires between games. If we get a silk spin-off before spider-man 3 he'lll probably still be taking time off but he wasnt around for Miles' spin-off so that wouldnt really be any different. When we do get around to spider-man 3 I’m sure the story will be something to the effect of Miles (and probably Cindy) have been taking care of the city for the past couple years while Peter's been enjoying civilian life but now a new threat from peter's past (almost certainly Norman and Otto, maybe a whole sinister 6 round 2) will pull him out of retirement one last time. And if he does die it will be a game ending sacrifice.

Ok hear me out. Next game they do 3 things. They do their own spin on Maximum Carnage, city is in peril rioting everywhere just like the comics. Miles is stretched too thin so Peter comes out of retirement to help. Well now he has a target on his back. Norman is looking for revenge as GG and Otto finished his final plan. Somehow Otto gets to Peter first and then they do Superior Spider-Man. He gets to fight Norman they both hate each other Otto wins so Norman falls back until he can figure out a way to fight this version or SM. Otto basically tells Miles go home boy you're a kid and I'm a man I got this and either gives him a beat down and takes over as main or Miles leaves to try to find what happened to Peter. THEN somehow Norman comes face to face with Carnage maybe after Peter comes back and he and Miles both take him down, or maybe he just sees someone else that hates both SM as much as he does so they team up for the inevitable Red Goblin final boss fight. And let's just say it's been a couple years at this point because of how Yuri said she was gonna need to track "Cletus" down again (don't forget that might not even be his real name like she said, I thought that was kinda cool) and now Peter and MJ have a family in the form of lil Mayday. So when it's all almost said and done they are all beaten exhausted and almost broken, out of pure hatred Norman lashes out one last time as GG or RG and goes for Miles but Peter makes the sacrifice play. And this causes one last good beatdown for Miles and he takes down GG/RG and we get that moment from the Ultimate Marvel comics where Peter dies from the Goblin in front of his family, (if you look there is a little room next to May and Bens headstones... Just sayin) THEN Miles becomes the main Spider-Man from that point forward. Roll credits

Co-op would be awesome, and if we had multiple spiders to plays as like Peter, Miles, and Cindy at the least. Bonuses it we get Gwen, Miguel, and Ben the Peter Clone. Peter and Otto switch body's in a future spider-man game and Ben O'Reilly showed up as a side quest character or mai. Story character I'd be down to see how the player characters react it.

If Miles ends up as the main Spider-Man in SM3 then I have a feeling Insomniac might pull the Superior Spider-Man storyline. It may be that Otto steals Peter's body and serves as an antagonist for Miles most of the game. That's the only way Miles taking lead makes sense to me. Both Osborn and Octavius have much stronger thematic connections to Peter than to Miles.

What I want is for in the 3rd game, miles tries to fight Green Goblin, and gets the crap beat out of him. Then, Peter has to come back to face Norman, and when Norman tries to kill Peter, Harry somehow gets in his way, sacrificing himself in the process. Then, Peter must face off against a completely deranged Goblin, his mind just gone, and that would be the final boss fight in the third game.

I really wish that in msm2 instead of have 1 mission be completely peter focused and the next being miles focused back and fourth that more missions were both pete and miles working together because one of the main reasons I was excited about the game was seeing pete & miles working together but we didn't really get as much of that as I would e hoped

Part of why Pete seemed kinda slow and nerfed is cause his guilt and grief was so high it messed with his senses. His “retirement” at the end is just so they can have a huge comeback moment where Miles gets in over his head. Spider-Man isn’t allowed to have a happy ending or put down his suit for good. He’ll be back and just as big a role in the next one. They also probably just wanted to make Miles stans happy for a bit

I thing that stopped me in my tracks once I finished the story and got the platinum instead of enjoying more swinging was having only symbiote crimes after the story even tho the story resolved that issue 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am a spider man fan and I love Peter like every else. BUT as a black spider man fan I really like Miles as well and consider them both to be Spider-Man. People that have an issue with calling Miles Spider-Man don’t seem to have that issue with Miguel as Spider-Man 2099 or Ben Riley as Spider-Man. It’s only when a black person comes it’s a “ issue”. It’s really sad as Spider-Man could be anyone under the suit ( that’s apart of the appeal per Stan Lee).

Idk if anyone else got the same glitch I did, since I haven’t seen it reported, but there was a point where during a main mission my suit was glowing a bright white almost looking expert for the black around his eyes. I thought it looked pretty cool, felt like a “god/angelic” or like an arc reactor mod. Anyone else get this? Wish I saved a photo of it…

mine did the same when I started a Flame Cult mission, and the time changed to night. I had the black symbiote suit on at the time, and my Peter was shining like crazy. I personally think it's just a shader not updating or something. I just reset my checkpoint and it got fixed.

Anyones who’s read 90’s Spider-Man knows the 3rd game will likely be similar to the Sensational Spider-Man run simply replacing Ben Reilly’s character with Miles. Miles will likely spend the first half to 2/3rds of the story as the main character with Peter returning to the fold when Miles cannot defeat Norman. Anyone annoyed by Peter being replaced due to him taking a break/retirement has never read the source material, it happens more than you think (hell even Bruce Wayne has been replace it a very common thing with comic book characters).

Regarding the eventual emergence of the Carnage symbiote and Norman Osborn going down the path of evil, I don't know about anyone else, but I personally would like to see Green Goblin be 'skipped' entirely and have Norman somehow get a hold of the Carnage symbiote (after Cletus' defeat) and just become the Red Goblin, going straight for _that_ iteration of Norman's evil alter ego right then and there. But this is just me talking.
