The symbolism in harry's death is amazing. Green goblin died by his own glider, trying to harm and kill Peter. Harry died by his own glider trying to save and protect Peter. Polar opposites yet also the same. It seems to be the Osbourne curse to die by there own gliders.

Spider-Man 3 I feel it's misunderstood because it just picks up with the plot of the first movie instead of doing something new or different like the second movie did. It also might be misunderstood because of the new characters, some of which came out of nowhere with little backstory, and the ones that do show up due to backstory are very underwhelming. I can agree to an extent about why it's hated, but I do think it's one of the better movies I've seen from Marvel. At least it's better than the other third movie released by DreamWorks the same year.

Honestly I don’t even think this movie is that bad, it certainly has problems and pales in comparison to the first two but the acting (minus bully Maguire), direction, score and action scenes are great. Had they ended the movie with a cliffhanger teasing Venom for the next movie instead of shoehorning him into the third act that would have liked fixed 98% of the problems (I say 98% because we’d still have Bully Maguire)

For anyone who didn’t catch or understand this. Peter’s spider sense doesn’t work on the symbiote because he bonded with it first. So his spider sense doesn’t see the symbiote as a threat. It’s why Peter couldn’t sense where Venom was at during the last fight where Peter was looking in all directions trying to see where Venom is. It happens in the comics as well. It’s one of the reasons why Venom is one of the deadliest villains of Spider-Man because peters Spider sense is useless against Venom.

But what you do is show the symbiote being separated from Peter at the church, see it slink away... and then cut. Sandman is the final villain, and Harry and him still team up, Harry still dies, etc. But no Venom in that last scene- it's just Sandman. Then, as either a coda at the end of the movie, or as a post-credits scene (they weren't doing them back then, but it could have been a first), you go back to the scene at the church, but this time you see Brock enter the church, the symbiote drip onto him, and him becoming Venom. And you use THAT as a tease for the next film, which Sony had every intention of making. The problem, though, is Raimi. He didn't like Venom, didn't want Venom, and the next movie's villain was going to be Vulture. So Sony would either have to talk him into using Venom instead, or find another director.

This is by far the best final battle in the Tobey Maguire trilogy. If it wasn't for Harry showing up to assist Peter, he wouldn't have made it to No Way Home to assist Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. 6:15 I just noticed that this is a parallel to the first movie where he "plays" with Carradine and hides in the shadows. First movie, Goblin threatens MJ, Peter immediately defeats him. Third movie, Venom kills Harry, Peter immediately defeats Venom. Never mess with Peter's loved ones or he's gonna put more than dirt in your eye.

Just realised after all these years, Spidey’s mask gets ripped inexplicably.

@@maxcloud3281 I know, right. They could make the suit look pretty nice, ie the bank robbery scene early in the film and the scene with Childish Gambino. It has that nice material texture and looks real. Whereas in every other scene it just looks so fake. I hope in the 3rd movie they really take care in making it look as good as the others.

@@maxcloud3281 well in fairness the iron spider armour actually looked pretty great in the opening FFH scene (compared to the other suits). The metallic plating looked good with the light reflecting off it, and I read that they’d actually improved it since we saw it in Endgame. At least that kind of suit would have an excuse if it looked bad as it couldn’t exist in real life. The other “fabric” looking suits... there’s no excuse for them to not look amazing.

I fuckin hate cheering in theaters, totally destroys the moments in the movie. Just like sit and enjoy the movie and let other people hear what the characters are actually saying and not disrupting it with clapping and screaming.
