This is a NON-SPOILER Review for Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse! Miles Morales is back in his sequel - Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse or Spiderverse 2! A brand new animated spiderman movie that showcases one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever created. It has been over 4 years since we last saw Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Peter B Parker, and the infamous Spider-Man 2099 played by Oscar Isacc who was teased at the end of the first Spiderverse! Finally making his appearance we are able to see what he has been up to. This movie has been long in the making and yet here we are. An incredible second chapter that is only the start for this entire story. I love how they brought on Joaquim Dos Santos (of Avatar the Last Airbender) to do the storyboarding and writing for this movie. He has a great touch at not speaking down to the audience and you can feel it in this movie.

Just saw this at the first screening in VMAX. The first movie has been my favourite since its release and as everyone knows, sequel movies are NEVER as good as the first. This here is an exception, it exceeded expectations and was so well-made. There is so much depth in this film, the story is fast faced and incredible, Miles character development is amazing. I remember watching the first Iron Man as a kid in the cinema and just buzzing over it.. This movie gave me that same feeling, you’re watching something truly special. No movie can ever be 10/10… This movie is 10/10 and is must watch!!! You hit the nail on the head here mate, this movie truly made me feel the same emotions I had as a kid. Also speechless, also amazed!!! It’s not often we get a movie that creates emotions like this. MASTERPIECE!

Sony absolutely created masterpiece with this film. I was floored by its energy, plot, and artwork. Im so shocked they threw down twice in a row with this film. Mine and one of my best friends favorite films was the first animated sony spidey film. Now this has took the cake. I hope they finish this story well!

My only ONLY issue with the movie is I felt like the beginning dragged on a bit to long, but that just if I’m nitpicking honestly. The movie was absolutely epic, I was so enticed and emotionally attached to this film it was crazy. Plus all the Spider-Man characters that were in this movie? Was definitely not expecting all that. Hello, Zach. Across the Spider-Verse - I've read alot of Miles Morales comic books, not a single one of them, is on the level of this film. The movie focuses on alot of characters, but Miles is the main one, he and the other characters are handled with such care, you really appreciate it, especially, if you're a Spider-Man fan. It's rare that a comic book film is better than the comics, but this is the best Miles Morales material. The film has heart, tons of emotion, and a relatibility factor, that was subtle in the comics. Focusing on compelling material about destiny, fate, one's place in the world, thinking before you act, the idea of consequences, that can affect others. When you are presented with a seemingly impossible scenario, do you back down, like a coward, on do you face it head on? Tons of easter eggs and references, that one can eat on for months. Humans that don't read comics, won't get all the references, but while the story is complex in nature, they present it in a way that's understandable, even if a person doesn't read Spider-Man comics. Music is very important, in any show or movie, this film has a great soundtrack. Each time a piece of music is used, it elevates every scene. Fantastic action, amazing art style, that very unique, like a comic book come to life, but comes across as very fresh. Voice acting is top notch, to where you believe and become invested in the story told. There's some dark stuff in this film, which will catch many off guard, as Spider-Man is not usually dark, but it's more of the aspects of the storytelling, not so much Miles being dark. With so many comic book movies coming out, left and right, you must have something that sticks out, you get that unique flavor for 2hrs. You cheer for Miles Morales every step of the way. Somehow, this movie managed to surpass the first film. It's rare that a sequel is better than the original, especially, if the original film is a masterpiece. 99% of MCU films can't hold a candle to this film. By the end of the film, you will find out, once and for all, why the world needs Spider-Man.10/10 TERRANCE OUT

Fun fact: This is the highest rated movie of all time on Letterboxd! There were 4 movies that is rated 4.6/5 and were the highest rated movies on Letterboxd. Across the Spider-Verse has a 4.7/5 rating. And in my opinion, Letterboxd has the most reliable ratings. That's an accomplishment.

The story is broken because the canon event is completely busted. It’s clear they wanted the “every spider man has an Uncle Ben moment” but ruined it by killing miles’ uncle in the first movie. So instead they tied the canon event to the loved one having to all share a specific job title. And as Gwen’s dad proves, the loved one simply not having that job title makes it ok to break the canon. So miles can watch his dad die, let everyone else die….. or his dad can simply not be a police captain. So busted.

This plot problem just made it feel a bit like they wrote the first movie in a bubble. It could have been fixed by -uncle Aaron doesn’t die in first movie - the canon moment could then be the one we all know and not have it need to be a police captain specifically. Just a loved one. - miles could still believe it means his dad becuase of the glimpse of the future he has - when the moment comes, miles can’t get to his dad in time - Aaron steps in to save him, dying in his place -some Aaron redemption, canon fulfilled and Aaron dies as always intended. - and no canon moment you can dodge by simply telling the loved one everything and having them not be a police captain (Like Gwens dad) But just my take. The iconic imagery, epic scenes, incredible emotion, powerful story, powerful friendships, the love that Peter Jackson and all the cast and crew put into those movies .. and you're saying, a movie people made on a computer, and yeah some nice artwork .. is somehow better than Lord of the Rings . Us adults wouldn't expect you to understand the grandeur of LOTR, it is literal art, on the ranks with Da Vinci, Mona Lisa, etc. A true wonder of the world, something that (most likely) won't happen again. Meanwhile Spiderverse is great for coked-out people who need visual stimulation every 2 minutes or they're going to spaz out and cry to mom haha. Stay in your kid corner. Spiderverse can't even touch the toenail of LOTR, let alone be compared to it as a trilogy 😅
