It actually doesn't make sense because kids take their accent from their peers not their parents but maybe the neighborhood is different. According to the Net, Miles's father took his wife's name when they married. His last name was Davis and he no longer wanted to be associated with the Confederate president.

Only in watching the reactions did I notice that the entire time Hobie is in Miguel's presence he doesn't change color. He stays in grayscale, almost like he's trying to blend in, intentionally not stand out. But when he's around everyone else, he changes color all of the time or some element of him, like his vest, changes color. I didn't notice that in the theater.

If you remember Spider-Man: Homecoming, Childish Gambino had a run-in with Peter Parker who kinda failed at intimidating him. That character is implied to be Uncle Aaron. And they've run with it ever since. We may very well get Childish Gambino as the Prowler if they can get Miles his own MCU film.

The Prowler wasn’t originally Aaron Davis in the comics, (Aaron is also unsympathetic in the ultimate universe comics he spawned from,) Hobie was the Prowler as originally introduced in 1969, he currently operates as the Super Hero Hornet, he’s been one of Peter’s allies for decades now. In 2014 Spider-Punk was introduced, and in 2015 his backstory was delved into, Spider-Punk is from Earth 138, like his 616 counterpart he’s American, not British, (the movie version is from 138B,) in his universe the United States is led by the fascist President Norman Virgil Osborn, and he fights back alongside his best friend Captain Anarchy, and his Spider-Army, he’s just as cool in the comics as he seems in the movies.

@@johnnyboy2388 I wouldn't say ignorant but most likely unaware of 2 things: 1) In general as long as the mother is in good (not pregnant Serena winning the Australian Open good, not motorcycling webslinging _superhuman_ good, just regular everyday good) health, pregnancy itself is a relatively low risk physical state. It's the complications that can result from or occur during labor and delivery that are more likely to kill a mother and child (like the blood clots Serena's doctors ignored). For instance, before the medical field adopted germ theory, mothers and infants died from infection because birth attendees weren't washing their hands or sterilizing the tools used during delivery. 🤢 Today a large percentage of births go well because maternal and newborn health care has evolved in most developed nations to the point where it actually saves lives. Sadly 2) the United States leads those nations in maternal morbidity and mortality, with Black mothers and infants the most at risk, meaning Jess Drew's pregnancy is high risk not because she's fighting crime but because she's pregnant and Black in the United States. Ironically that's probably not at all what people are referring to when they voice their concerns over her condition.

It will never stop to amaze me how EVERYONE seems to have forgotten that from the very first teaser this movie was going to be a PART I. They were originally announced as Across the Spider-Verse Part I and Part II. They just changed the title of Part II to Beyond the Spider-Verse, but the whole thing was always a two-parter.

I don't get why people are so mad about it anyways. This isn't anything new in movies. They get split into two parts all the time. I like when it's done well because it builds anticipation for the next one even more. People are just entitled and want everything now now now.

@@Alran109 Yep, that's the other thing. A lot of exaggerated angry reactions. It's not the first time we've had movies in two parts or with cliffhangers: Back to the Future II, the last two Harry Potter films, Matrix Reloaded, Dead Man's Chest... even the LOTR and Hobbit movies could count. The only legitimate reason for annoyance I can think of is that Beyond the Spider-Verse is surely going to be delayed because of problems with the animators and strikes, but that could not have been anticipated when production on the films began.

As someone who's read the Spiderman 2099 comics I do mostly like how they represented him in this movie, along with some of the other Spidermen like Spectacular Spiderman, and Insomniac Spiderman too, this movie is all around fantastic

Spectacular Spiderman is from a show released in 2008, it basically sort of loosely follows a story similar to the Tobey Maguire movies but in a series format with many more villains such as Rhino, Shocker, Tombstone, Venom, and is highly considered as one of the best Spiderman cartoons ever that unfortunate never got to release Season three though the creator said what would've happened in it As for Insomniac Spiderman he was made for the PS4 game and is a Spiderman who is veteran and has been a hero for several years, he is also arguably considered among the strongest Spidermen ever due to some of his feats and exploits, in one of the conics released for it he also gets a suit that makes him a Speedster Hope these are good enough for basic explanations

Best theory so far… Miguel is an alternate universe Prowler masquerading as 2099 Spider-Man. He has the prowler eyes on his mask. He has a cape. He has claws. He doesn’t have a spidey-sense and the other spiders don’t instinctively know who he is like they do with real spideys. His theme music matches prowlers. He isn’t funny. And Miles questions if he is even Spider-Man.

The claws and fangs are part of Miguel’s spider mutation. His fangs can inject paralytic venom Childish Gambino was in Homecoming as Uncle Aaron. He wasn’t Prowler (yet). He was buying weapons, he tells Spider-Man where the next sale is happening bc he doesn’t want the weapons in the same city as his _nephew_ 😉

one more thing that wasn't mentioned in the movie is that miguel lacks traditional spider sense and works on pure reflexs, thats why he was mad at gwen not telling him about vulture's attack behind his back in the opening sequence

I really love Miguel POV, like I'm rooting for Miles, but I also understand Miguel's reason. Miguel is that dude that took the hard but responsible way. Like even if he's a bad guy to do it. I know the spider society playbook isn't a good one, and yes they should find another way, but the risk is too much to save your dad and let the whole dimension collapse

Venom is only connected in name alone. It's the loosest possible connection so Sony could keep the rights. Spider-Man 3, with it's weak presentation of Venom, is far more representative of the Venom as a character. The Venom movies being only a very brief joke cutscene the two times they're linked to other movies shows how important those movies are.

The way Gwen snapped at Miles when he was touching her watch he should've been like that when she took his collectible out of the package it's still in the package for a reason. And the shot of Miles & Gwen looking out at the city is breathtaking whether they're upside down or not I would love to see the city like that even just one time.

So Spider-Man 2099 has a different power set than most spider people. His powers include: Super Strength Heightened senes(instead of Spidey-sense) Talons to climb up walls Fangs with Paralyzing Venom to subdue people But he should also have organic webs too if I'm not mistaken. 7:28

WHen I saw this i n the theater, I was so caught up with how amazing everyhting was going, that intensity hitting on all fronts, that I forgot how much time went past. Around the time Miles realized he was in the wrong dimension, my heart started racing thinking "Oh shit, the movie is about to end... no way could there be a conclusion to the movie in this short amount of time. They're about to leave it on a cliffhanger!" And sure enough, there it was! If the third movie is just as good as this one, the Spider-Verse trilogy will be the greatest super-hero trilogy of ALL TIME, I'm telling you!

I think the difference between miles in our universe and the prowler miles universe is simply just the spider. Maybe the spider was supposed to bite miles in that universe 42 but because it was transported over to miles that we first meet he doesnt become the prowler like he does in the 42 universe because he becomes Spider-Man?? Also i think they hinted miles we know was gonna be prowler from his spidersense colors first showing but then changing, also idk how the indian spidermans cannon event of the captain dying could be influenced and completely rely on the fact that other Spiderman etc and spot would come through have a battle and then accidentally a huuuuuge freaking building falls over which is then that cannon event but was stopped by miles so yea idk lots to think

I got a theory about the next one when it comes out. Miguel is gonna be the main bad guy in the end. Miles is going to successfully save his dad, so Miguel is going to feel like he has to kill the dad himself, and possibly miles, as a last resort My rating of the movie is gonna hinge on how the next one goes, because it doesn't feel complete. It definitely feels like a part 1 out of 2. So the next one can either elevate it or ruin it. But as it is rn, it's still one of my favorites, tied with Spiderman 2, and No Way Home.
