@@graham2167 Definitely better. It had more highs and lows, from emotion to action. My only problems were that the artsy backgrounds were a little too artsy at times, stealing some sense of environmental grounding. Some parts were also too fast, not giving you a chance to digest them.

I think the “Beyond” means that the next movie will involve multidimensional versions of characters other than Spider-Man. The Spideys can’t be the only people in the world to be aware of their other selves. Most likely, it’ll be other Prowlers or other Spots. “Beyond” probably also means that it’ll explore what the Spiderverses could be like if they deviated from canon without somehow breaking reality.

THEORY ON NEXT FILM: Anomaly doesn’t mean someone from the wrong universe, just something that wasn’t supposed to happen. So technically KingPin and the Spot were the first ones for bringing the spider to their world. But in world 42 no catastrophic event has happened, despite not having “the Spider-Man” they were supposed to. So maybe all those events with the Spot scientist are CANON EVENTS and were supposed to happen. And Miguel O’Hara is secretly the Main Villain. Who actually got his ‘other self’ killed on purpose so he can replace him, and that’s what caused that Universe to collapse. Because actually maybe CANON events can be changed without the World getting destroyed as long as there isn’t any INTRUDERS changing it themselves. Such as Miguel did and Miles did with the Indian world. And either Miguel doesn’t know this or he does. And he’s making everyone believe that’s how it is to cover himself up for what he did. That’s why he wanted to keep Miles as far as possible because he knows Mile’s future. That he’s the only Spider-Man that defies the rules and changes a “canon” event where nothing catastrophic happens exposing Miguel. And he doing his best to prevent that from happening.

Did anyone else notice the animation just before the final credits?? They were not from either Spider-Verse movies. Could they be hints to what will come in Beyond The Spider-Verse? If so, they seem to be indicating that Jefferson Davis will get the Gwen Stacy treatment, as it shows Jefferson falling Miles Spider-Man diving after him. So, does he die? Or will they pull a No Way Home, and Miles saves him last minute like Andrew Garfield did with MJ?

🚨 SPOILERS🚨 So the spider was definitely supposed to bite that mile morales. I’ve seen the movie a few times and In the opening when the spot is explaining his origin it shows the spider about to bite the miles in that universe (with the braids) then it gets teleported to universe 1610 it’s quick so you can easily miss it especially on the first watch you wouldn’t think anything of it.

The thing that tipped me off about him being in the wrong universe was that Rio's eyes were green, her eyes were brown before. Loved the movie, but I wasn't crazy about that ending though... will need to see where it goes in the next movie

My theory: Miles is already beyond the Spider-verse. I highly doubt the Beyonder will be in the movie. There is no Spider-man of Earth-42, so Miles is beyond the Spider-verse if you consider Spider-verse as a multiverse with a spider hero. I think this is the direction they’re taking - into was a foray into the possibilities of Spider-verse, and Across took us across multiple different spider-verses. Beyond will take us beyond what we see, beyond any universe with a Spider-person; Earth 42.

Thus, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to suggest that Miles Morales could meet him in the next movie. Theory for next film: Gwen’s team stop the Miles’ dad from dying. However it does start causing his universe to collapse. Miles in 42 isn’t actually a villain. He just doesn’t defeat villains by the book after his dad past. Miles and Miles work together to get out. When Miles universe is collapsing, 42 Miles universe is as well. They go belong the universe by bringing these universes together. This works but causes a major problem Miles’s dad lives but his mom dies in front of him. The 42 Miles jumps in to try to save her but he dies in the process. Miles takes on being Spider-Man in the new universe and Uncle Aaron takes on the Prowler but the good version.

Saving the Police Captain does not break the Canon Event. Not even lifitng a single finger to attempt to safe the Police Captain breaks the Canon Event. Sitting on his hands and watching as somebody dies breaks the Canon Event. The Canon Event is not "The Police Captain dies", the Canon Event is "Spider-Man fails to safe the Police Captain despite trying his hardest to safe him".

I was confused on how the spider being in the wrong universe was the cause of peter dying by kingpin.

Apparently the scientist that became the spot experimented with various colliders (before messing with the big one in the first film) and managed to teleport the spider from earth 42 to earth 1610 (which is miles’ universe). The spider already existed in earth 42 (who knows maybe it got created by a variant of the scientist in the other universe but we do not know that). The exact origin of the spider is unknown. Now when the spider got teleported it caused a cascading chain of events where miles gets bit, becomes spiderman, and leads to the original spiderman to die. According to 2099 this should have never happened but to me personally if it was supposed to never happen then how is earth 1610 still intact. Hopefully the next film answers this huge question.

Uncle Aaron in Universe 42 was supposed to be Spider-Man with Miles as the Prowler. Aaron will help 1610 Miles escape and defeat 42 Miles aka the 42 Prowler. That's my prediction. We shall see where the next movie goes with the story.

I've said this elsewhere, but I think this is a conflict of Free Will Versus Predestination. Miles represents Free Will, of course. It also appears that Miles is being expected to do something no other Spider- hero has. While the patterns of "canon" deaths keep repeating, no Spider-hero has had to keep distance to avoid saving a loved one. And what hero let's someone die because of some self-imposed "destiny"? Also, expect Madam Web in the third film, I say. Edit to add: Yes, Captain Kirk prevented Dr McCoy from saving Edith Keeler. I accept it happened, but think it was a story shortcut to give Kirk pathos. I hope that the Spider-verse doesn't cheat on the concept. Because a hero shouldn't have to let someone die.

Two weekends in a row; Little Mermaid then Spiderverse2; both hugely overperformed domestically due to presentation; Black and Latino demographic more than doubled in both from the usual 15% to 35%. Both made 120 million domestically but almost half of that internationally; the pattern is always the opposite for both types of film. Same thing happened with both Black Panther films; they are the only superhero films in history where domestic total is bigger than international total.
