I like that Spiderman actually has a mentor in this "universe". Toby's Spiderman only really had Uncle Ben's last words to go off of. Garfield's Spiderman would only really get help from anyone's ghost via recordings after they died. This Spiderman actually has an already gone through the motions of loss and sacrifice hero who seems to be going through aches and pains to make sure he doesn't go through the same scars that not only he went through, but basically what the previous Spiderman's had to go through. That's the main difference I see in this film compared to the others. If you look at how alone both Toby's and Garfield's Spidermans really were and compare it to this one, it's a huge difference.

It's amazing how 3 got made despite the studio interference and half finished script during production. Sometimes I believe it is a miracle the movie didn't get cancelled. If it did, I would be pissed off because I've wanted to see Venom in a Spider-Man movie ever since the first one in 2002. I'm glad Raimi was convinced to put Venom in 3 because at first he didn't want Venom at all.

Back when Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire, and Kirsten Dunst had finished their contracts with the "SPIDER-MAN" Movies with "SPIDER-MAN 3", Raimi agreed to return and do "SPIDER-MAN 4" and then both Maguire and Dunst agreed to return as well. Raimi wanted the 2 Main Villains in the 4th movie to be The Vulture (who was going to be played by John Malkovich) and The Vulturess (who was going to be played by Anne Hathaway) but the Studio wanted the Main Villain to be The Lizard. Raimi refused and stood his ground and so the studio canceled the 4th movie and instead chose to reboot the franchise with the Marc Webb & Andrew Garfield films.

We don't need more recycling of the same story. No death of Uncle Ben, Green Goblin/Norman Osbourne, Harry Osbourne or Venom is a great thing! The whole world knows by now Spiderman's origin story. We don't need to see that again. This trailer looks great. Spidey is FINALLY a teenager. lol And he looks AMAZING! So exited to see Keaton as The Vulture. He is going to kill that role. Having Stark as a mentor is great. I believe Shocker is in this movie too? Maybe a small cameo part. I would love to see a 2nd movie with either Mysterio or Kraven The Hunter.

What's with Spiderman franchises starting with a green villain? Admittedly, the Vulture didn't look super green in this trailer, but I definitely think of the character as mainly green, and he at least still had green eyes. Andrew Garfield had the Lizard, and Tobey Maguire had the Green Goblin. It's like having a green-themed bad guy is a prerequisite for starting a new Spiderman franchise.
