I love how Aunt May instantly adopted Miles as a nephew. Also 31:18 "when did he get so cool?" That was that universe's original (blonde) Peter's move Miles picked up while watching him fight Green Goblin.

It just now occurred to me why the dad always makes Miles say I love you back to him. As a cop, he could die at anytime so he always makes sure that the last thing he says to his family and vice versa is I love you. That is both sad and incredibly sweet.

This movie was not only amazing, but it helped to transform or evolve digital animation with its beautiful art, newer movies try to be like that, for example the animation of Turning Red, Mitchells versus the machines or The Bad Guys

This film was Amazing ! See his rates, everywhere they are high and very good. This movie was as a commercial and crotical bomb, and the producers give us a real nugget. There even a sequel in two parts who will be release in the coming years. And from the first leaks, this second movie look more crazy and exciting than the first !

@@dudotolivier6363 Into the Spider-Verse wasn’t a bomb at all (unless you meant to say “boom”. It made $190.2 million domestically and $375.5 million worldwide on a $90 million budget. As much as I love Spider-Man: No Way Home, this one is the best Spider-Man film for me. Everything about this film works. It has a top notch story, beautiful animation, awesome action, enjoyable characters, excellent motivations, and great humor. It’s pretty much everything we like to see in a comic book film. This definitely deserved its Oscar for Best Animated Feature. I can’t wait for Across the Spider-Verse next summer and Beyond the Spider-Verse in March 2024!

10:03 So this is actually Green Goblin but from the Ultimate Universe, setting of this film. Little insight but Miles Earth is Earth-1610 also known as the Ultimate universe a modern updated reimagine of Marvel superhero's placing them into the 2000s. Pretty much it was Marvels way of going back to the origins of these characters, updating them for a new generation starting with Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, and finally The Ultimates who are The Avengers of this universe. In the Ultimate Universe Norman theorized that since the OZ combined with spider DNA gave Parker the abilities of a spider, if Norman were receive OZ combined with his own DNA he could become a heightened version of himself. The experiment went horribly wrong and an explosion occurred, affecting Harry and Dr. Otto Octavius, Norman was transformed into a grotesque, demon-like monster. Doctor Octavius was wearing tentacles designed by Oscorp that were connected to a harness across his waist. When the explosion occurred it burnt the metal harness into his skin and thus Doc Ock was born. Miles Earth also has some weird changes from Police cars having PDNY written on the side rather than NYPD like our own world. There's also an advert for Koca-Soda instead of Coca-Cola. Peter B. Parker is from Earth-616 the mainline Marvel comic universe that is closer to the comics and our world. Only difference is this Peter is much older and has gone through some bad times no doubt after years of fighting crime and similarity fighting some massive battles with other groups if we're following the comics. Because this is a Sony film I'm pretty sure they didn't have the rights to Avengers, X-Men etc. So because of this the movie is solely focused around Spider-People but no doubt there's a greater Marvel world out there while this is all happening. Universes: Earth-616 - Peter B. Parker, Miguel O'Hara (After Credit Spider-Man from 2099) Earth-1610 - Spider-Man, Miles Morales (Ultimate Spider-Man) Earth-65 - Spider-Woman, Gwen Stacy Earth-90214 - Spider-Man Noir Earth-14512 - Peni Parker Earth-8311 - Peter Porker Earth-67 - Spider-Man (From the 1967 TV Show)

This is somewhat based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, which started as just a retelling of Spider-Man’s origin story in a modern setting, but was extended into a long-running series with big differences (including the female Doc Ock). It was the start of the Ultimate Marvel universe, which was new versions of other Marvel characters running separate from the main Marvel universe. Ultimate Marvel later broke down into a dark, awful mess after a big crossover that killed off a lot of characters, but Marvel tried to keep it going anyway and take chances with the surviving characters. In Spider-Man, they introduced Miles Morales, gave him spider powers and had him be trained by the first Ultimate Spider-Man. Then that Spider-Man died and Miles became the main Ultimate Spider-Man. When the Ultimate universe was destroyed in a big crossover with the main universe, he was added to the main universe, and has been part of it ever since

This film is a true work of art, in every aspect. I never get tired of watching it and each time still feels like the first. As much as I love the other films, this is easily my fave. Can't wait to watch your reaction to No Way Home, Soph. Also, the "time is relative" joke works on several levels and I think Gwen laughs because she was a week 'early' to this dimension.

Yes, we watched movies in class. Typically on chill days, when there’s little to do, or if it relates to the subject. Oh my god that “Miles away from here” actually got me! 😂 Norman’s been depicted as an actual goblin looking monster. Most notably in the Ultimate comics, which Miles originated from I take it you’re not familiar with Ultimate Spidey stuff. Miles became Spiderman after Peter died. Fighting Green Goblin. So that wasn’t a huge surprise. Especially since the first trailer showed Peter’s tombstone Kingpin’s a big guy but most of it is muscle You’re also not familiar with Kingpin. I take it you didn’t watch the 90s Spider Man cartoon, he was a regular villain in that. So much that I was surprised to learn he’s a Daredevil villain. Arch enemy even. No, Gwen said she couldn’t save her Peter. Her Peter became Lizard and died Peni said she has a telepathic link with the spider that bit her and now lives in her robot I was told the pointing meme predated this movie, and I can believe that, but I was only made aware of it afterward. It definitely blew up after this movie

Ok, I love this movie, and I have looked up a ton of fun facts about it (some of it I might not remember well, but whatever), so here goes: Miles was actually animated at 12 frames per second before he threw on the black suit and became more confident, while he was animated at the normal 24 frames per second after, making his animation seem clunkier and awkward at first but smooth and sharp later. There was a really interesting video that more or less explained the differences between the blonde Peter Parker and Peter B. Parker. Basically, it explained that blonde Peter Parker was the "brand", so of course he had the Spider themed lair, and doom buggy, multiple suits, just, everything Spider-Man that could possibly have, while Peter B. Parker was just the "man", as in, this was JUST Peter Parker. He only seemed to have his powers, his webshooters, and his suit, and no other gadgets (that we know of). It just makes him feel more realistic and the depressing events like his Aunt May dying or him and MJ divorcing make him also seem more human, instead of the typical, "main character gets pretty much everything he ever wanted" angle (almost like in Spider-Man: Homecoming). It also explains his more jaded and tired attitude (that and he's older, he's basically going through a mid-life crisis) Uncle Aaron was a LOT more messed up in the original Miles Morales comic. If I remember correctly, he was a villain, but was hardly redeemable. It was him who accidentally sneaked the radioactive spider to his place, where it bit Miles. Miles then tries to become like Spider-Man (bc this version ALSO died), but more or less failed bc he had no clue what he was doing (and I'm pretty sure bumped into Nick Fury, who gave him the new black suit, as well as MJ and Gwen Stacy, who sort of coached him a bit and gave him Peter's old webshooters). Basically tho, Uncle Aaron finds out Miles is the new Spider-Man, and more or less "trains" him, but has him do a LOT of shady or questionable stuff. I don't remember much what happens to Uncle Aaron after that, but I think him and Miles get into a bit of a fight and Miles ends up just leaving his uncle for a bit (also Miles mom dies from a supervillain and he ends up quitting Spider-Man for a few years (like I said, the comic is a LOT more messed up)) My absolute favorite scene in this has to be when Miles takes the leap of faith. The way it's shot makes it look like instead of falling, like when he tried to jump off the building the first time, it made it look like he was RISING. It just is such a powerful shot. I don't know much about Gwen Stacey as Spider-Woman, but I know she's had a few different Spidey themed names, like Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, Ghost-Spider, etc, all while having a similar white and black costume. I think the origin story for her is very similar to the movie, but a bit deeper. So, she's friends with Peter Parker, but she gets bit by the spider and becomes a superhero, right? (she might have had a similar origin story where she was on tv or just used her powers to get famous at first, but it was brief). Either way, Peter Parker (who must have known who Spider-Woman was now that I think of it) wanted to be special like her too, and ended up creating a formula and becoming her version of the Lizard (and if you look close enough at the shadow when she kicks the Lizard, it changes and morphs into Peter Parker's shadow, and you can still see a few scales on Peter's body as he dies) I know very little about Penny Parker but basically in her universe she shares a psychic link with the spider she saves at the end of the movie, that also controls the robot she rides in. She is from the distant future and her father was a scientist who made at least the robot and possibly the spider. A part of me almost doesn't want to see the sequel to this movie, because I feel like it wouldn't do it any justice. It just feels so... perfectly Spider-Man.

After Spider-Man: No Way Home was a MASSIVE success both at the box office (nearly $2 billion worldwide during a pandemic) and with critics, many people praised Andrew Garfield for his redemption arc! Now many fans are begging Sony to release a third film in his trilogy (and a fourth film in the Tobey Maguire franchise). As long as they give him a better script, I hope they end off his trilogy right.

Just discovered this channel after being intrigued by the title of "Russian GIrl watched Anastasia." I went on to enjoy other clips like the HtTYD series, & Rise of the Guardians - I was excited for Sophie to see Santa depicted as Russian, but unfortunately, she seemed to miss the connection. With ItSV, I was surprised after her intro telling us she was a Spider-Man fan since childhood, but didn't recognise Kingpin, & seemed to actively not perceive why he was drawn in such an imposing, exaggerated manner. Well, art is subjective & it's easy to forget one of Spidey's -- Marvel's -- most famous villains, if you haven't seen the character in a while. She also wrote a caption that showed she missed that despite being embarrassed, Miles does indeed tell his dad he loves him, which the other students then mock. Another moment that caught my ear was when Miles came home after watching helplessly as his idol & literal saviour, Spider-Man, was pulverised to death; he asks his mother if they ever considered leaving Brooklyn. She says "...Our family doesn't run from things." Sophie added, "And we're broke, so, get your sh*t together." Considering all the times she became emotional over absolutely everything with the Dragons series, I was taken aback by "get your sh*t together" being aimed at a child, who literally witnessed a murder before his eyes. Alternately, while I pointed out some things Sophie missed in this reaction & others, she must also not have remembered that Miles' father is a (long-time) police officer, & we see his mother's nurse's scrubs as she's tucking Miles in. Either one of those salaries can bring in close to, if not, over 100K per year. Also, despite its long history of poverty in various sections, Brooklyn has been one of the most expensive places to live for several decades ("I don't think I could afford a place in Brooklyn." - Steve Rogers). I'm guessing it's not too different on Earth-1610. Where did the idea that the Morales family is broke come from? For all she misses, it was interesting to to hear Sophie add that in. It reminded me of the assumptions of poverty made by Miles' teacher in the next film, which his parents take umbrage at & correct. 🤔

I love Spider-Man too, I grew up watching the Sam Raimi trilogy with Tobey Maguire, and also saw the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies (For the record, it was due to studio interference and lack of good writing that made them so subpar, but chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone was priceless, and Jamie Foxx's character could have used more character depth and nuance), and I have seen the Homecoming trilogy with Tom Holland's Spider-Man which I enjoyed, being a little closer to the Peter Parker from the original comics. And I appreciate all the different memes and theme songs you used here, Sophie! You're a diehard fan just like the rest of us! Into The Spider-Verse was literally made to look like a comic book come to life, hence all the little thought bubbles, animations of sound effects, etc, and I love it all. Inception is a pretty great movie too, I'm willing to bet that it must have been the inspiration for this movie, for Doctor Strange, and for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Speaking of which, do you plan to include Inception and all the previous Spider-Man movies into your reaction watchlist? Let me know, please

I see you are not familiar with the 90's cartoon, which popularized Kingpin from the comics, or the Ultimate universe, which this movie's universe is based on and where Miles and Ultimate Green Goblin were introduced in, that is fine, sure, but you have got to check them out after this, otherwise some of these hidden easter eggs will stay hidden to you, although these Spider-Verse movies have easter eggs from every corner of the Spider-Man franchise. Also, this movie and its upcoming sequels and spin-off are an adaptation of the comic book arc, Spider-Verse. Also, Peni has a telepathic link with the spider, it is not her pet.

Yes!!! I love Black Cat from the 90’s animated series til today. I hope she appears in the Spiderverse Part 1 movie. I’m glad this movie is having people know more of the Spider people. Hopefully next movie brings in Silk, Spiderwoman, Spidergirl & others since it will have over 200 characters.

Beyond the Spider-Verse was supposed to be released in 2024 but was delayed to 2026 due to the (now ended) WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes

In _this_ continuity, Uncle Aaron was the Prowler because it paid the bills. It wasn't anything truly malicious, or really evil, he just needed money and had the physique and skills to get the done. He wanted to eventually quit, live a good life in NYC and be someone Miles could look up to. In _other_ continuities, he's just a dick. He lives longer than here, learns Miles' secret later into his career as Spider-Man, then blackmails Miles with that knowledge, before dying trying to kill him when Miles refused to be manipulated. He was then brought back to life when the Multiverse rebooted, with both their lives being transplanted into the 'Prime' universe (the Universe Peter B. Parker's is based on in this movie).

@@nielsjensen4185 This, followed closely by the one from Insomniac's Miles Morales game. As far as we know, it's basically the same reason for being Prowler as in Spider-Verse, but he decided to retire when Jeff died. He only takes up the mantle again to help/protect Miles, even if he was being overzealous about it.

Spiderverse is my comfort movie so I've watched pretty much every KZbin reaction there is. Yours is, by far, one of the best. I loved the sound effects you used Just two things. 1- Would you be interested in doing a video of you reacting to the sequel's teaser trailer and 2- what did you think of the voice casting of Spiderverse? I mean, Nicholas Cage, Hailee Steinfeld, Kathryn Hahn, Liev Schreiber, Chris Pine, John Mulaney, etc. No wonder this movie won an Oscar
