Note: There was ONE very specific occasion where they did let Spider-Man get drunk. Except it was non-consensual. Basically, someone had spiked the punch that Peter was drinking. So when he went out on patrol, he kept misfiring his webs and couldn't properly use his reflexes or sense danger accurately. It got him into trouble with the Hobgoblin, and he only survived out of sheer dumb luck. I'm pretty sure they made this story SPECIFICALLY so that they never have to make him drink again. Because now you have an in-lore reason for why he doesn't. It's ironic because having Spider-Man get a spiked drink sounds MORE problematic than him just consensually getting carried away with his booze lol

You wouldn't feel the effects of booze immediately. It takes a while, and the booze itself would dull his spider-sense.

You'll find people who are far left think exactly the same as ppl far right, they think like a conservative, it's either their way or the highway. Also, there’s a scene in an episode of TNAS which HEAVILY implies Peter and this girl “Indy” I think, banged. Peter Parker is my favorite fictional character of all time, and I've grown up idolizing him and have been told growing up by various people that I remind people of spiderman from time to time (not a genius or a hero btw), more so in morals and personality. Something I'm known for in my social circles is that I don't drink, don't do drugs of any kind, and other things of that nature. I just realized while watching this video, that I had that in common with him without realizing it. Controversial statement that I'm sure people will judge me for... I'm glad Peter has these requirements and restrictions. It helps keep that character familiar and recognizable. I also like that one of the most popular heroes of all time is someone who doesn't drink or do drugs. I don't think drinking in moderation is bad... but in my life I've seen drinking and drugs go south on people I love and I hate that people have to drink or do drugs to have a good time... so I really like that there is a hero who I love that is a good example for those of use who don't like substances to be part of our lives.

This reminds me of the rather prudish attitude to drinking they had in _Buffy The Vampire Slayer._ In the first series, yes they were all high-schoolers so that was understandable, but in later series when they were were all young adults, the show still treated them as kids when it came to alcohol. There was the episode _Beer Bad_ in which enchanted beer caused Buffy and a bunch of jocks to devolve into cave-men, and a later episode in which Willow (I think after her girlfriend got killed. I may be wrong) dropped a half-full beer bottle and her friends all looked as shocked as if they caught her shooting up smack.

As a bisexual man (not the same thing as gay but kinda sorta) I do fully believe in the idea that you are 'born gay' or w/e sexuality is applicable, and in the case of characters you do have to write them with the idea that they're gay from the start. As a man in his 40s who doesn't drink or do drugs, I like the fact that Peter Parker is also pretty much straight edge. That said, I am a bigger fan of Ben Reilly and wonder which (if any) of those rules apply to him. As to an older Peter Parker, my (sort of fan fiction) idea for Spidey in the MCU before the Tom Holland films started was a Spider-Family series. Peter would have been a widow in his mid to late sixties, with adult children. (May "Mayday" and Ben Parker from MC2). I'd have had the story focus on a young Miles Morales, who gets his powers from a spider bite and finds Peter when he seeks out "Spider-Man" based on stories from a defunct tabloid called "The Daily Bugle" from back in the 1960s.

I think it’d be funny as hell if we got an elsworld story where Peter is either directly shown by Deadpool these “rules of Spider-Man”, or perhaps he and Deadpool like get mind melded and it gives that Peter the 4th wall awareness. The entire comic could be Peter trying his damnedest to prove Deadpool/the writers wrong and do all of the still legal stuff he isn’t allowed to, but the cosmos just keeps denying him. From things like he tries 3 bars but they all happen to only have non alcoholic drinks remaining or perhaps there’s dry county laws in place and it’s the weekend. I prefer to believe that the reason why Peter Parker as Spider-Man doesn't drink on principle is that he did get get drunk once and it resulted in one (or more) of the following: 1) an Incident-That-Shall-Never-Be-Spoken-Of(TM) 2) it royally fucked with his powers 3) the revelation that he's allergic to alcohol when ingested

Need an story line where Parker ends up getting spiked drinks at a party and goes out "I am spider parker, and I am peter-man!" but he has a trashy halloween knock off costume he found in one of the dorm rooms... and immediately faceplants jumping off the stairs. like belly flop style. knocked out and pissing his pants. nobody believes him for two reasons spiderman would have landed that jump, second, "how can lame-o parker be spiderman?" but he literally worries the whole arch that someone or a group of people know that he is spiderman. need to figure out why he went to the party? investigating a kidnapping ring?

Assassin spider-man is a badass murderer who gives no shits. He's an alternate spidey who works with wolverine as a professional assassin and his webshooters have guns in them...and the best part is he forms the "finger guns" hand shape to fire them.

There is a comic where spidey gets drunk. I don't remember the issue number, but it was when he was in the black suit and he fights the hobgoblin. Someone spiked the punch at a party. Parker was not happy about it

I find it cool that Spider-Man can get drunk and they don‘t use the cheap way of saying his Metabolism is just too strong. Also I wish more companies or Authors had such a comprehensive List for their work.. this could have spared us from so much crap in the last years. Stan Lee truly was a visionary.

Shoutout to that one time 616 Spider-Man DID get drunk and slept with his roommate's sister after Aunt May's second wedding... Only it to be carried (a fair bit) later on that Peter drank NON-ALCOHOLIC CHAMPAGNE without knowing, believed he was drunk, then slept with his roommate's sister, who was in fact drunk... Ugh... It ain't easy being a Spidey fan...

Superior Spider man was when Doc Oc took over spider man's body for a period. In his first battle against a super villain he fought the Scorpion and threw a single punch, not at full strength but not holding back at all, and in one punch knocked the scorpions jaw completely off. He in that moment realized Peter Parker had been MERCIFUL his entire time as spider man, he could have killed his rogues gallery at ANY time he felt like, none of them could have stopped him. It was strictly the morals of Peter that make him Spider Man. Heroes are DEFINED by their villains, and vice versa clearly as well. Make an enemy that has always been a very dangerous threat shudder in terror at the realization of how much danger he has always been in? Ah, muy magnific.
