About Spider-Man Movie:
After incorporating elements of comic book style and design into many of his films, director Sam Raimi helms this straight-ahead, big-budget comic book adaptation, which also marks acclaimed young actor Tobey Maguire's first dip into live-action blockbuster filmmaking. Spider-Man follows the template of the original Stan Lee/Steve Ditko source material, with hero Peter Parker an orphaned, intellectual teen loner living in Queens with his aunt (Rosemary Harris) and uncle (Cliff Robertson), and dreaming of the girl next door, Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). On a field trip to a Columbia University lab, Peter is bitten by a genetically altered spider and overnight he gains superhuman strength, agility, and perception. At first, Peter uses his powers for material gain, winning a wrestling match with a purportedly lucrative prize. But when Peter apathetically fails to stop a burglar from robbing the wrestling arena, a tragedy follows that compels him to devote his powers to fighting crime -- as the superhero Spider-Man. When he's not busy fighting crime in a spider suit, Peter moves into an apartment with his best friend, Harry (James Franco), and begins work as a photographer at the Daily Bugle. Meanwhile, his do-gooder alter ego finds a nemesis in the form of the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), a super-powered, megalomaniacal villain who happens to be the alter ego of Harry's father, weapons-manufacturing mogul Norman Osborn. How is that foreshadowing? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he already knew he had the ability to shoot webs from his wrists prior to this scene. He was doing it earlier in the film. One of the most popular scenes in the film (his fight with Flash) literally started because he accidentally flung a tray of food at him with his webs. This scene was just the first time he actually tried using them to swing, nothing was being foreshadowed here.

This scene is so epic in every way. And Tobey McGuire’s reaction to when he realizes he can climb up walls with his bare hands and shoot web fluid from the veins in his wrists is just priceless. And seriously, how could someone not whoop like a banshee when something like this happens? You’ve just found out that you have an almost god like ability to swing through the air with ease and beat on criminals with acrobatic agility that would make most gymnastics athletes jealous, and you want to try and contain your excitement? Ha! Good luck with that. This film really was ahead of its time, and just the fact that it released around the same time as X-Men made it all the better, because it showed that superheroes were finally becoming a part of the modern age. I hope to see Tobey come back for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

it’s actually pretty obvious. Peters best friend, his “bully” (if you can even call flash a bully in Tom hollands movies) and his gf are all race swapped. Not to mention they refuse to make MJ even seem like able or relatable because they have to make her bored and monotone the entire time so she can’t be seen as a victim. Admittedly, putting mj as the victim in all three movies of the original trilogy is lame. TASM did peters gf the best because she isn’t a helpless victim but actually acts like a real and likeable girl who has chemistry with peter

I think (And this is just a theory, don’t quote me on this) Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man acquired most of the spider’s genetic material than Andrew and Tom did from their radioactive spider bites. ‘Cause think about it, Tobey has organic webbing that are basically unlimited and/or limited by his mental health and nutrition. That right there could possibly be a sign that Tobey is imbued with way more augmented spider DNA. Perhaps Tobey would’ve become Man-Spider had the Raimi trilogy continued. Or maybe it happened offscreen, who knows, really? Plus, in my personal opinion, I think organic webs are a superior idea that James Cameron and Sam Raimi went with as it makes sense for a spider-based hero like Peter Parker to spin webs out of his wrists instead of spending an absorbent amount of money on a clunk pair of wrist shooters.
