We’re going to break down the eleven minutes of extra footage we got in this extended cut of the film. Including a brand new post credit scene answering a MAJOR question of how the “forget Peter Parker” spell works.
We open with Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Magurie thanking the fans for all their love and support.
Now remember this scene in No Way Home? [clip, Andrew telling Tom and Tobey he loves them.]
Well Tom and Tobey finally tell Andrew that they love him too.
The movie begins and first bit of additional footage we see takes place when Peter is being questioned by the D.O.D.C. following his arrest. [clip, Peter getting arrested]
We see the agents question Peter about the boat incident in Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as the Washington Monument. They then question him about the Night Monkey. [clip, Far From Home Night Monkey]
When Aunt May is being interrogated we get an additional bit of dialogue revealing that she has participated in protests in her past. Likely peaceful protests advocating for progressive causes. After all she does volunteer with FEAST which is an organization that helps people in need.
We then get the deleted scene that featured Tom Holland’s brother, Harry Holland being webbed up by Spider-Man. This scene also includes bystanders arguing over whether or not Spider-Man should still be fighting crime.
One woman says that he can’t do this anymore because he’s a child. To which another person replies “have some respect, he’s not a child, he’s 14.”
Peter says “I’m not 14” which is a reference to this scene in Spider-Man Homecoming. [clip, Tony scolding Peter.]
Other bystanders continue to bicker. One says “I had a job when I was 14” - “My son’s 14, he’s a moron.” - “He can’t even rent a car” - “He doesn’t need a car, he's been to space.” Which is a reference to this scene in Far From Home. [clip, bitch please, you’ve been to space.]
At the end of this encounter we see someone run up and throw green paint on Spider-Man. Which we did see in the original cut of the film except it was included as cell phone footage in a Daily Bugle news cast.
In this cut of the film we get an additional news cast where J. Jonah Jameson complains that Peter Parker is being allowed to attend school thanks to quote the “city council and Mayor Dingus.”
I’m not sure who the MCU’s New York City Mayor is. But it’s not surprising that conspiracy theorist J. Jonah Jameson doesn’t like them.
When Peter is walking into school for the first time since his identity was revealed. We hear a kid say “he was my lab partner, did anyone know that?”
Now I went back and watched all of Peter’s classroom scenes in Spider-Man Homecoming and I can’t find this kid anywhere.
Next we get a scene with Peter in gym class where his pro-Mysterio coach and the rest of the gym class are chanting for Peter to climb the wall. And when he does, the room goes silent. And then we hear the coach say “look at that sticky bastard go.” And then we hear a student call him a freak.
We then see Peter walking down the hall and a young woman exclaim that he is “so cute!”
This character looks A LOT like Jessica Cambell from the comics who had a huge crush on Peter Parker. Jessica Cambell of course went on to become the popular Marvel character, Jessica Jones. Her parents were killed in an explosion and she was adopted by a family with the last name Jones.

So Erik Voss was right since the beginning, about the spell! He had this theory that Peter Parker was not completely removed from the documents and Photos, but he simply been forgotten. Due to the fact that most of the times he wasn't there with his friends, and he naturally missed so many opportunities to be around them. And now the Spell bold those moments and make ppl forget about those lil times that he's been around.

I'm generally content with original releases when compared to extended cuts, and I still am, but I have to admit that post-credits scene was the perfect sendoff to Peter's high school years. It really drives home that that was a lived-in corner of the MCU, and it's genuinely sweet to say goodbye to the setting as Tom Holland's Spider-Man moves on.

It would have strictly been fan service (in a movie that was very much fan service, so maybe it doesn't matter?). The full character arc of Peter 1's redemption needed that last pummeling of Goblin and Peter 2 to save him from making the mistake he made by allowing the killer of Uncle Ben to die. In arguable the best Spider-Man movie ever made, this was possibly the best scene. The look in Peter 2's eyes as he conveys "you're better than this" and the realization by Peter 1 that he understands it won't bring May back. Saving Norman is what she would have wanted. Just another example of how MCU Peter/Spider-Man is the best version. He went from dumpster diving to getting several multi-million dollar suits, having the most famous person in MCU 616 as a father figure, a girlfriend, best friend to literally nothing at the end of No Way Home. No friends. Not even a high school degree. This is a true full circle character arc masterfully done. I can't WAIT for Spectacular Spider-Man to see a grounded Peter battle Kingpin and meet Black Cat. Inject a little bit of temptation for him. Spectacular Spider-Man has the potential to be even better than Homecoming and No Way Home. It services everyone from the fans complaining about him being "Iron Boy" to fans that loved the MCU direction.

I saw the extended version in theaters, and I can say I was expecting more. I really thought those scenes of Toby's Peter fighting Green Goblin and Norman repairing the Goblin's mask and using it to enhance his glider were going to be in the film. And I thought that after Goblin stabs Toby's Peter that Venom was going to show up and heal him which would result in Venom getting the spider symbol. I heard all these things were in the writers' original plans and those were all deleted scenes we were going to get in this. I can honestly say this cut feels really unnecessary. I'm assuming this was a Sony decision to bring No Way Home back into theaters since Morbius flopped twice.

These were like the most pointless 11 minutes added to an extended cut I have ever seen. I wouldn’t even consider 11 minutes a “extended cut”. 30 minutes would be my bare minimum for additional scenes in order to feel like the movie really gained anything. Such a cash grab. They literally have scenes of Tobey fighting Green Goblin and apparently there was going to be a Venom scene where he comes in an helps Tobey with his stab wound. Like why didn’t they use that?? I guess they are going to release the true “extended cut” later on on like DVD or something.

To those who are still perplexed as to how Adrian Toomes got into Morbius (SONY) Universe. Okay, I read it somewhere a long time ago and don't remember where, but I promise this makes sense. So, when Doc. Strange cast that spell, it essentially opened up boundaries between universes. All of Peter Parker's adversaries entered our world, and we should accept that the door works both ways, right? While some villains invaded the 616 universe, it is safe to assume that some of the 616 universes travelled to other universes.

@@WeirdEdz Because The Green Goblin is Tom’s villain now. He killed his Aunt May, just like he killed his Gwen Stacy in the comics. And Tom wants to kill him because of that. So it’s very clear that there is a very intense rivalry between the two. And having a fight between Goblin and Tobey could dilute and unfocus this main rivalry of the film. Tobey intervened appropriately, by not fighting Green Goblin, but by saving Norman’s life instead, highlighting his loyalty and love to his ceased best friend Harry. And so having him fight Goblin wouldn’t make sense all because he wouldn’t want to do it at all because of Harry. This shows how the director, producer and writers are geniuses who truly understand Spider-Man.

With the (probably hundreds of) lies in his Flashpoint book, he'd be salivating if the actual Spider-Man out right claimed Flash was his best friend. Like, we thought it was _just_ cuz he's a huge fucking fan boy, but no. Flash has essentially conned Peter into retroactively confirming to the public that everything stated in the book has grounds to be believed, since it was "Spider-Man's best friend" whose claiming it.

Is the spell an ongoing enchantment or is it cast and done?

I'd suspect it's on going until the spell is broken, but it's a world wide thing so I can't imagine it being broken for everyone simultaneously.

@@HealingSwordsman probably, since the spell threatened the mcu universe when it went wrong. So it should be a spell that applies to the universe.
