in China,We often call David Tao the godfather of R & B, because he first brought R & B into China,Jay Chou has said more than once that David Tao has a great influence on his music. However, David Tao has always stressed that this is a misunderstanding. He prefers to make rock music rather than R & B, but there were too many R & B styles in his early albums, which led to such an impression.

about the piano solo in the middle I think maybe Its a metaphor for the author's inner struggle and then his emotions finally explode , cause the lyrics before means " you love me or him? I've found a hundred reasons for you... maybe silence is the answer maybe I can understand.... " that's how the solo makes me feel.

I missed the livestreaming yesterday, so glad that I actually watched it after it's uploaded. I died laughing when you started talking about kiwis and the video with DT reviewing your review. I will try to translate things he said in the video below :)
@lsy972 жыл бұрын
1:12:12 David asked why didn't you choose other songs because the song you chose was a less exciting one in terms on musicality , but it's alright. 1:12:47 David guessed you should be a kiwi based in New Zealand. 1:13:20 David was translating your comment for his viewers, you mentioned something about mandopop songs having similar melody at the start. David then added that actually 85% of mandarin songs are like this, they start off with piano. 1:15:26 David said he's curious about when the review was filmed. 1:15:31 David said that since you are analysing him, he should analyse you too. He went on briefly about how Australians, New Zealanders and Britons have different accent even though they all speak English, same goes for Scotland and Ireland. 1:16:20 David translated 'Astute' for his viewers, and humorously asked if he is indeed that 'Astute'. He also told his viewers that they probably can learn some English vocabulary by watching Spiderhand's reviews. 1:16:57 David was correcting your pronunciation, he said it's not 'woo laa', it's 'woo wap', and it also sounds a little like 'doo waa'. 1:17:42 David said the guitar was played by Bruce Watson, a musician which he had collaborated with for a long time.
@lsy972 жыл бұрын
1:18:17 David finds your review interesting because you are commenting from a different perspective, as someone who is not that familiar with Mandopop. 1:18:30 David said the drum was played by his MIDI programme. He added that similarly, he would have a different perspective too when he listens to American/ Indian/ Japanese music. 1:19:40 He said Beyond's music came out around ten years before him, Eason and Jay, so Beyond would sound very different from them. Also, Beyond had more 'band sound', so they can be quite different. 1:21:00 He commented that this song indeed had more 'band sound' too, and he is happy that his mandarin songs reached non-mandarin-speakers. He shared that another song of his, titled 飛機場的10:30 (10.30am at the airport) was covered by a korean singer, Cho Kyu Chan, and he felt very honored that even Korean singer do listen to his mandarin song.
@lsy972 жыл бұрын
1:21:38 David said reading directly translated lyrics would be difficult. 1:22:41 David commented that you are very polite but also a bit sarcastic at times, but he is totally alright with it. He also said that translated lyrics can be quite funny. 1:23:25 David was talking about the comments under your video, some viewers recommended other songs like Soul Power, Melody and 黑色柳丁 (Black Tangerine) to you. 1:23:41 David said the original demo of that song was written in English and the vibes was quite different from the finalised version. 1:24:08 David said he admires people who does livestreaming because they had to talk and also listen to many people talking simultaneously. He himself have difficulty focusing on his speech when looking at your video, so such multitasking skill is really sick.

I'm sorry that I just saw the video of your reaction to David Tao today😭. It’s very sincere and professional. What I want to say is that David Tao actually has a rock heart and is also a super classic rock lover. R&B is only part of his music career, including himself. And he hates being called the godfather of Chinese R&B. If you want to know more about David Tao, I sincerely recommend his sixth studio album - 69乐章, which is a rock album based on the band's voice.For him, this is an album that is loyal to himself, returns to the original intention of playing music in his youth, and speaks freely. Finally, I like your videos very much. They are very sincere and impressive. I can't wait to see more of your videos!😃😃

I really enjoy your reaction of every David’s track. There are so many musical details that I never pay attention to in your videos. I just hope you could make a reaction video about another David’s song, which is ‘Say goodbye’ or ‘再见以前先说再见’ in Chinese. It is also from David’s first album in 1997. It is one of my favorite song of David but it is relatively unpopular in his first album so I really want to see your reaction of this song. Respect from your bilibili fans.

Hey Alice T, thanks for your comment! These are a lot of songs, eh? I'm keen to review them - but my schedule is very busy, at the moment. If you went through the SP Fan-Request livestreams, you'd be needing 5 months or so to get through this list - and that's if you get your song on the list every time! You could always consider becoming an SP Patron for $12USD p/month - that way, you get a custom monthly music review of your choice, and it can be any of the songs on this list (as long as they're not over 7 and a half minutes!) Go to the link below to check that out: - patreon.com/spiderhandspnz And have a great day!

He began to say that your accent is a little like that of New Zealand, because New Zealand, Scotland and Ireland have very different accents Later, he said that the lyrics of Beatles should be woo WAA He said that watching your video can learn a lot of English words that are rarely used Then he said Bruce Watson was a guitarist he often worked with in the United States
