Spider-Man 2 is a 2004 American superhero film directed by Sam Raimi, written by Alvin Sargent and developed by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Michael Chabon. It is the second film in the Spider-Man film franchise based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It saw the return of Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and James Franco as Harry Osborn.
Set two years after the original, the film focuses on Peter Parker struggling to manage both his personal life and his duties as Spider-Man. The main villain in this film is Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), who turns insane following a failed experiment and the death of his wife. Using his mechanical tentacles, Octavius is dubbed "Doctor Octopus" and threatens to endanger the lives of the people of New York City.
The film was released in 2004 in the United States by Columbia Pictures, and received high acclaim from critics. It grossed over $783 million worldwide, and won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. The film's success led to the final sequel, Spider-Man 3.
Plot:
Peter Parker is beset with troubles in his failing personal life as he battles a brilliant scientist named Doctor Otto Octavius, who becomes Doctor Octopus (aka Doc Ock), after an accident causes him to bond psychically with mechanical tentacles that do his bidding.

But now, as a 17 year old, I love the human scenes behind it. Look at the scene where Peter confesses the truth to Aunt May, or where he talks to uncle ben. Spider-Man 2 puts emotion over comedy, unlike the MCU

I love how I get goosebumps from the nostalgia. The opening shot of this trailer and the first note instantly take me way back! I'm pretty sure this was one of the trailers that was shown on the DVD of "Big Fish". It's crazy to think how everything is so digital and how you don't watch/skip through the trailers at the start of the DVD to watch a film. I grew up with Tobey's version of Spider-Man and my nephew is growing up with Tom Holland's, and while I love both, Tobey's version will always be very close to my heart - these films were my childhood!

When I was 9 back in 2003, a good friend of my mom’s told me to sit down and told me he had a surprise for me on his TV, and so he told me to close my eyes, and then the moment I saw the scene where Peter was running and he whipped out his spidey suit, I immediately knew that this was the trailer for Spider-Man 2! I got even more hyped knowing that Doc Ock was gunna be the villain considering I loved him in the 90s Spider-Man cartoon! So the fact that nine-year-old me witnessed this amazing trailer!
