Holy fuck the legend himself... Props to Spike for showing up. he may be a super big movie director now, but you can tell he hasn't forgotten his roots. Cheers all around guys. Keep it real.

This show is the only form of entertainment that puts a smile on my face EVERY single time I watch it. Been skating for 32 years and can honestly say: This show is the greatest contribution to skateboarding (besides actual skatin) that has blessed our culture. Noble work, gents. Never quit

Being around the same age as Spike, I actually remember seeing his name is BMX Plus magzine before he ever even got sucked into the skate world! ... Then didnt hear from him for a while then all of a sudden I see his name all over the most epic skate movies and MTV videos and I was like, wait, THAT Spike Jones??? NO WAY!!! ... What a fucking EPIC human! I true visual ARTIST!

What a legend! I think it’s really interesting how Spike tells the story of Rocco giving him the company card to buy stuff for the video. Especially because Spike has a cameo in the movie Babylon where the main character has to the same thing, on Spike’s character’s movie set!

Amazing interview! Spike is an incredibly creative dude who makes his dreams come true. I must be the same age as him as I grew up completely immersed in everything he created. Starting from the early freestyle days and Rockville BMX and all the mags he was part of to when I started skating and he was also there in the mags and videos doing his magic. Looking back now I can see that I’ve loved everything he has done. Much thanks to Spike for all the wonderful memories 🙏 🙏

I started watching this thinking it was long but it would be a good 2 and a half hours. With all the videos you need to go back and rewatch or watch for the first time this interview will take you a minimum of four hours to get through.

My favorite episode by far. Spike carries so much history in him, not just skateboarding but he was in the absolute center of what was happening in the world of BMX/Freestyle. Would’ve loved to hear more about Rocco’s dirty business tactics to shops in an attempt to sabotage the early days of Girl. And I know it’s en vogue to talk shit on Crail, and I know they aren’t what they once were (who is?) but let’s not pretend their videos aren’t always fun and entertaining. They set the standard. Continued Success Nine Club.

I've been binging Nine Club episodes for the past few weeks. These are all so great. I had no clue that Spike Jonze cut his teeth as a skate/BMX videographer; always figured he was sought out after finding success in movies and other media. The first video I saw of his was Yeah Right, and I was like "hey look, it's that movie director guy..." Had no idea of his super involved history in the scene. So cool! Thank you La Crob & Co.!
