I just read that a supernova can produce 10 x46 or 10 per cent of stellar rest mass into neutrinos! That is an enormous quench of energy. Anything above ten to the power of 24 seems out of the realistic range of human scalar sense and we can barely understand neutrinos and their flavours besides. Supernova are enormous neutrino sources, like gamma ray burst sources. Also, the light from the star arrives at light speed (c) and the shockwave arrives at 10 per cent of c. When supernova sagitarius 1987a was observed we were immediately bathed with neutrinos.
