When they made this movie, they consulted Jewish, Muslim, and Christian scholars, which is why the movie contains elements from all three Abrahamic religions. They put a lot of effort into this movie, and it shows! At the end of the credits, quotes about Moses from the Hebrew Bible, New Testament, and Quran also appear!

I'm an atheist, and I love this movie. Idec. Dreamworks should've done more of these man. We would be eating so good.

Sadly they did a couple more bible stories but without the same talents and an extremely small budget they weren’t very impressive or successful. I’m a Christian woman who has Sephardic Jewish ancestry and I study history, one of the things that a lot of people don’t realize is the fact that many of the First Families of Virginia within the American colonies were secretly of Jewish descent and I enjoy watching this movie because of my own religious beliefs and from my own enjoyment of studying history and the culture of my ancestors.

9:58 This is why we should learn Esperanto - pretty much any word can be either a noun, an adjective, a verb or an adverb, depending what vowel it ends in. For example: _kato_ "cat" _kata_ "feline" or "of a cat" _kate_ "in a feline manner" _kati_ ... I guess it means... to be a cat?

Fun fact: They added the scene of Rhamses spinning Moses’s wig much later into production, because when test audiences saw Moses remove it after he fled into the desert, they thought he’d just scalped himself, so they decided to add a much earlier scene to show that it’s just a wig.

They don’t show it in the movie, but the reason Moses is so scared when Ramses is about to say that he’s going to finish what his father started, is because God had just told Moses that the Pharaoh would choose the final plague, and Moses knew he was about to choose to have all the first born killed. Also, the directors explained that the reason they cut out any of the other times that Moses spoke to God, was because they wanted the burning bush scene to remain special.
