I never remembered the name of Spin Me Round, even though I watched their vids a lot back about 2-3 years ago. Love that Motels debut ! Im listening to Sahara Hotnights now..

hey thanks for tuning in. yes couldnt agree more - that place was awesome. well worth the drive for me coming from the beach. glad the store was able to find a new home and carry on….

Did you get to meet the girls who do Spin Me Around channel? You got a ton of music from there!

Very cool record store, Steve. I’m a fan of early Billy Squire and Bow Wow Wow. Billy Joel? Like you I’m a casual fan, more of a nostalgic appeal for me. He is a fantastic writer, I’ll give him that. Be cool 😎 Steve.

I've got several of those CDs you showed. That Bow Wow Wow album is great. I remember it well when I used to work in a record store in the early 80's. It was on the turntable all the time.

hey tarr. yeh its funny how aside from i want candy until i picked up that best of CD i mentioned in like 2015 i had never heard any other song by them. great band.

I do like the debut album from Robbie Robertson, BAD, and Bow Wow Wow is simply awesome! I have to say that I have never heard of Sahara Hotnights and Cut Off Your Hands until now. Sounds like a cool store.
@STEVEHEROLD7 ай бұрын
hey brian thanks for tuning in. not surprised you havent heard of Cut Off Your Hands but I woulda thought Sahara Hotnights mightve crossed your path at least back in early 2000s. I know MuchMusic played their video for Alright Alright a lot.

Billy Squier brings me back to my early teens. I loved that album. Billy Joel never released a bad album. I do tend to gravitate towards his earlier releases. I’ll have to check out the Charly Bliss album. Have a good weekend Steve
@STEVEHEROLD7 ай бұрын
hey mark. yeh its a shame what happened to billy squier’s career after just one video. see what ya think about charly bliss - her vocals def are an acquired taste. youll either hate them or like them i think. not sure theres really any gray area there. appreciate ya tuning in dude.

When I start3d I always watched Spin Me Around. I also always love Bull Moose when they did RSD reviews, they were excellent at it. A Best Of from Bow Wow Wow seems the way to go. You bought a lot at that store and shocked you still have the receipt
@STEVEHEROLD7 ай бұрын
def a best of bow wow wow will suffice. a fee years ago i started sticking the receipts under the CD tray. why? i dont know. hahaha. one of those dumb things we sometimes do. thanks for tuning in steve. good to hear from ya as usual.

Spin Me Round is a great name for a record store. I'll definitely look up their videos. I have my original copy of Squier's "Don't say no"...he actually grew up in the town next to me here called Wellesley and attended the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Boston. That Robbie Robertson debut is excellent and I have that too. There is another one he did called Robbie Robertson and The Red Road Ensemble that is worth getting. I'm liking that Best of Big Audio Dynamite CD. I have their first one called E=MC2. Bow Wow Wow! Fun band!

yeh i think before Spin Me Round they were toying with the idea of calling it Mike Loves PBR Record shop. i’ll have to look into that other robbie robertson album. yeh i trally came late to the party with bow wow wow. BAD are fun fer sure. thanks for tuning in dude. appreciate it.

Billy Squier didn’t deserve what happened to him and it’s the best example of video killing the radio star. I own the Essential Billy Joel and that 3 disc set replaced the 2 cassette hits collection that I owned in the ‘80s, I’ve never owned anything else other than the 45 of Allentown. I didn’t know that Bow Wow Wow had more than one song. 😂
@STEVEHEROLD7 ай бұрын
yes video did indeed kill that radio star. i could see where the essential billy joel would suffice. i have that original greatest hits you used to have and then 2-3 of his albums. his hits have been so played to death that its rare im ever really reaching to listen to him. but this one was a pleasant surprise. yeh i’m telling ya bow wow wow were a lot better than i ever couldve imagined. thanks for tuning in dude.
@excelsiormusicreviews7 ай бұрын
@@STEVEHEROLD yes, I have a hard time listening to Billy Joel now the essential collection is all I’ll ever need. Billy Squier has 6 or 7 great songs, but I haven’t heard much else. I’ve always loved the bass line on the song Emotions in Motion. The singer from Bow Wow Wow was extremely young when that band started.

Hey Steve, what's the name of the record stores in the village in the 80’s I use to go to 2 of them.
@STEVEHEROLD7 ай бұрын
hey there. my favorite was Second Coming. They were on Sullivan just below Wash Sq Park. There was also Revolver, Bleecker Bob’s, Venus, Rocks in Head. Those are some that come to mind.

Yes! The second coming and Bleeker Bob’s. Thank you! 💕
@STEVEHEROLD7 ай бұрын
@@CoffeeOwlll yeh Second Coming was great. They got busted in early 90s for bootlegging and were closed down. I had a shirt with their logo printed maybe 3 years ago. I’m wearing it in some of my videos from back then.

@@STEVEHEROLD wow bootlegging, that’s a shame. I’m glad you got your shirt before they closed. I’d love to see it on you sometime.🫶🏻
