Holy Crap, this video is amazing!! I never even knew 2 different forms of Spin Shot even existed. Not just that, but I’ve actually never been using Spin Shot at all, but the Spin Charge Jump instead. It’s definitely my favourite out of the Spin Shot’s & I’m glad I’ve checked this video out. Saved it for future reference & damm is it helpful for learning some Sonic tech.

By using it to either evade or to get away quickly as shown on 1:41 I used Bair to try to cover my landing. That might be the reason why you confused it.

Wanted to ask this a while ago but I didn't want to seem dumb lmao. You have a capture card now, right? Also seeing movement like this sometimes makes me want to pick up Sonic. I've played him a bit. He is kinda fun but I know he's hella annoying to deal with. Idk though. Seeing all this crazy shit just gives me some incentive to pick him up. But still idk. I'm content with Mario, Lucy, Roy, (trying Peach but I'm booty cheeks with her lmao), and Ganon. Maybe time will tell. Anyway good guide.

Sadly no. I'm stuck on that micro SD card in the switch as a recording system. Honestly just go with who ever you just feel like playing. If you are wanting to play sonic prepare to suicide... A lot.

Try slowing down the in game speed in training mode and then working your way to normal speed.

Easier way to do this for me is to use the back bumpers instead of tilt stick.

@@TroyIsLyco They're the default grab buttons. I guess it's because grab kinda counts as an attacking move. I use the grab button for spin hop, but use the tilt stick for spin charge.

I asked about these techs in one of your last videos and I’m happy to see them explained. I’m still curious though: when would you use one over the other? I know spin charge jump keeps your double jump but spinshot lets you airdodge. So in general, which is used in which situation? Or are they mostly interchangeable?

In general Spin Shot is better since it has more options, but in curtain situations a double jump would be better for movement or you just want a hit box while moving or you want to combo, spin charge jump would be the option.

I use the c stick and input down and I still get charge shot and I lead it into shooting star(dair) spike

Did being able to Spin Shot using Spin Charge get patched out? I can Spin Shot just fine with Spin Dash both Grounded & Airborne, but doing it while Airborne with Spin Charge has been a bother.

Don’t think so. It’s just that the window for Down B spinshot is smaller

Still possible. Spin Charge's version is only a 1 frame window, so its really difficult to the timing down.

Depeands on the match up but generally its FD that's better. Sonic doesn't haven to worry about hitting his homing attack on a platform and when the platforms catches his approaches. Never go BF if you're against a projectile user since as sonic you're going to have the chasing them compared to the other stages.

well i guess technically you cant because sonic will eventually release. Which I think was a neccesary change from Sm4sh. It was extremely obnoxious. Sonic still is but less bc of the fact that he's more aggressive now instead of pure defensibe hit and run.
