Just put mine at 50° C in the oven for 30 min to soften the ball bearing grease, after that I just reel it for around 10 min, now everything runs smooth as you want. Just an idea for anybody who does not want to open the reel. Appreciate to have you on YT, thanks for your decent work. Greetings from Norway.

I remenbered this one comment and tried it out. I did it with a brandnew Spinfisher VI 2500, because it wasn´t as smooth as I wanted it to be. And it really helped! Thanks and greetings from Germany

Love my spinfisher VI.. I've been using spinfishers since 3rd gen. Ive had the 3rd 4th 5th and now 6 gen. I gotta say price wise the 4500 VI is about a 100$ cheaper then when the V was the newest one out. I remember paying around 270 for my SSV4500LL.. Now on Amazon for a SSVI4500BLS 129$. What I did with my SSV4500BLS is got the whole Slammer 3 4500 handle setup and thru it on the SSVI4500BLS and it looks so much nicer. I get tons of compliments. I know Bailless is usually for surf fishing but I've been using it off a dock because I bought it 2nd hand brand new in the box for 50$ so couldn't turn it down.

Hi. I have a question for you. I bought the PENN spinfisher V 3500 reel and after pulling out of the box it goes quite hard and from what I saw in the other reviews it is much smoother. Would you buy the live liner In this series or Shimano’s Baitrunner? I have had two Thuunus’ dragged into the ocean off a dead stick and cleaning them up was painful. I’m thinking the VI’s seal may be a better choice in live lining reels. Your thoughts?
@danvaca1996 жыл бұрын
I love both- but keep baitrunners off the beach I feel your pain same thing happened to twice.
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
I'm confident in the Spinfishers enough to recommend them..the new thunnus reels are good but not worth the $$$$ CI4 in a bait reel....not needed
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
it's worth mentioning the SSVI liveliners take minutes to clean...not the case with the shimano baitrunners
@patrickspehnkouch23456 жыл бұрын
I've got an oldschool baitrunner (4500B series), if you can find an old one on ebay and have it checked out and serviced, it'd be worth it. They're tanks, but yeah you might be better served by the new spinfisher 6. If you want a cheap dependable "baitrunner" drag possessing reel, I've really abused my okuma avenger abf-50, and it's performed very well. It's pretty light and very smooth.

@patrickspehnkouch23456 жыл бұрын
Do you recommend this over a Fuego LT or BG...for a $100-ish kayak reel to be used in 99% saltwater conditions? I was leaning towards another BG (love my 2500) but wanted lighter. The spinfisher VI is about 2oz heavier than a comparably sized fuego LT, which is a big difference for what I'll be using it for. BTW I loved the $100 reel comparison video, and all of your vids actually.
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
Well considering Elias V is sending he his second fuego lt that fully seized.....I'd say so. Those reels aren't rugged. In the saltater and sand exposure / resistiance department. The spinfisher is much better suited. But heavier. Thanks Patrick
@patrickspehnkouch23456 жыл бұрын
@@TackleAdvisors thank you! I guess 10.5oz isn't too heavy for a lot of casting/jigging...maybe I'll just go for a really lightweight rod, Fenwick hmg or mojo inshore maybe
@nated61906 жыл бұрын
Locking up is not a good sign. I dunked my BG and still working smoothly. Mind you I dropped the rod in the surf going after my second rod. It was sandy and washed afterwards but still works like new
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
It's back to like new again which was surprising.....normally once it sticks and gets raspy...no grease or oil fixes it.....but it's good now........I have a bg 4k right next to it now with the same issue....but not able to be brought back....and when i did the review on the bg...I had to replace that same bearing (went with a boca yellow seal) It's common to see issues with those bearings.

Excellent video sir!! Did you experienced wobbly rotor and bail after some time of use with this reel? I've been using my spinfisher v 5500 for a year now and its rotor is wobbly and makes strange sound. don't feel like lure fishing with spinfishers

One of the main reasons i watch is the thruthfulness in every review .....Keep it up ...P.S gimme Quantum hotsauce !! .imo it works just wis h i could get a bigger volume of it ....LOL
I have a question not related to this video Tackle Advisor. Have tried out the new diawa Tatula 100? If so, what is the deal with the very restricted tuning of the brake. It seems like whether I was throwing a 1/4 oz or a 3/4 oz the mag dial adjustments were literally the same. Other than this it's a solid reel. Thanks
@TackleAdvisors6 жыл бұрын
hmmmmm that's interesting. it shouldn't if it's like all the others....I fish mine on 4 maybe max5.... once you hit 7 or above it should be very manageable and very restrictive.....major distance loss but great for tough conditions and learning.

0:30 while it's not scuba rated Penn's reps are talking up the improved seal system with a IPX5 rating so in my opinion they're saying it's designed to be safe if dunked. I am wondering, now that the VI has been out a while, is it really better than the V series. Because those puppies are dirt cheap now. Is it worth it? Hopefully someone in 2020 sees this and replies.

@TackleAdvisors5 жыл бұрын
9'6 or 10'6 tiralejo sticks are great... I use 12 to 18ounce reels with those specific rods and it's a perfect match....Spectacular sticks and in my opinion best in class.....even punchin a few classes up......The 9'6 black hole cape cod striper nano is a great rod too...lots of power with a great action that easily fires up to 4ounces with some oomph. St croix mojos are the most popular in the price range...But I think the tiralejos are well worth the few bucks more. Daiwa's sp surf rods are pretty nice for the price too.....good actions for plugging. Not lifeless and broom sticky like some others in the 200$ and under class
