One observation at the 11:37 mark, the imagery is interesting how casca's breaking apart starts right down at the womb, showing that it was the source of the trauma she experienced with the rape, and possibly ties into her loss of the demon child in a way
@xcaluhbration6 жыл бұрын
I never really considered just how much pain is inflicted on someone when they are raped. While I'm sad that it took for me to empathize with a fictional character to feel pain for those who have actually suffered rape, I'm thankful that this subject was so tastefully handled that I could at least maybe begin to see things from the victim's angle. That full panel showing her being broken up starting from between her legs until the rest of the body submitted was jarring. She was used like some object, discarded and couldn't even see her own body and life the same after that. Hopefully in the west we can have art/entertainment really brooch the subject, effects and life long recovery of victims as mature as this very soon. Imagine just how many more people would become understanding and more kind.

You forgot to talk about Farnese hidden jealousy towards Caska. Even Schierke notices it (again) when Farnese tells : " These things filling my heart...are Caska's feelings...and hers alone." I think somewhere in the story there will be a conflict involving this,although I don't know for sure how this will be shown. Aside from this ,excellent videos.
@edwardgaines65615 жыл бұрын
It *has* been shown before. Farnese called potato Casca an outright *bitch* on the boat, because Guts hurts himself to protect Casca.
@giocommentary4 жыл бұрын
@AxentiumZ their interest does make sense tho, it isn't senseless harem writing right. Schierke is young and has been sheltered all her life. she has never really encountered a man of the world before let alone someone like Guts. it would be odd not to have her confuse about it right. its just what happens when you're inexperienced and young. same kind of goes for Farnese, although Farnese's attraction seems more like the respect towards a leader and the person who taught her to stand on her own legs. which naturally also creates attraction.
@blastermaster50393 жыл бұрын
Its kind of hard to blame both Farnesse and to an extent Schierke to feel jealousy in their heart to a woman who is the love of a man they really both admire, and in some cases, love. Evarella already knew that Schierke has a crush on Guts, hinting that she might even love him to the point that she feels down and even depressed knowing that Guts already has Caska in his life. Farnesse on her part has many times scolded Caska and feel despair seeing that Guts is pouring everything he has on a woman who might as well be permanently disabled mentally when he can have any woman of his choice. So its kind of hard to blame both females for feeling jealousy towards Caska for having a man of a high caliber such as Guts - which is what makes both Farnesse and Schierke feel more human if you ask me.

There's so much symbolism in this, all showing the inner aspects of Casca's sense of self as seen thru a Jungian style of poetic imagery. Every aspect of the inner world is but a reason behind the persona of Casca and the struggle within that she carries along w her. All of what you said was spot on. But there's also so much more to it, especially the foreshadowing that gets hammered throughout. I don't think these "hints" weren't intentional, what Gutz said when mirroring the words of Skull Knight as he fully understood how change is a fact of being - reflecting upon his own change since the eclipse happened, the thorn laced vines around Casca's heart as if to show the root of darkness is so engrained within that it's become apart of her almost as a setup for her own behelit temptation later on, the damage received in the dream world by the party as both a symbolic message of how friendship means taking on the pains that come from those you love and possibly more, the significance of how Casca never viewed herself as a woman except when Gutz saw her as the one she wanted to see herself as and how Griffith stole that from her both with the way she saw herself as a tool for him and by the broken shell of what was left after he betrayed her, etc, etc... I get the feeling that these will all lead up to the climax where Casca's choices will have the most impact on what's to come. Either it will play out as a Gutz must sacrifice himself for her to realize she too can "be better than the darkness within" and thus she wins the day however it ends up written, or something similar. These are themes that have been held throughout the story in its entirety, the path of change and choosing to not succumb to the darkness within, no matter what, even though sometimes it takes friends (family) to be able to do that and that's ok. And also identity and how that is defined by the relationships we have with others. So it's with these I believe the epic climax will be told and this is all buildup and foreshadowing towards that. Orrrrrr, it could go a completely different direction, where Casca succumbs to the inner darkness, but that wouldn't be a satisfying ending as it would undermine the struggles Guts has gone through in his own development and it would rob Casca of the agency she now potentially has to become her own, like Guts, thus further implicating how Guts' growth is a viable outcome for anyone, which I think is the core message of the entire story to begin with. Anywho, sorry for the novel. Just found your vids and was stupid excited to see someone talking about this part of the story with more than, "penis monsters! Heh heh, cool!" That was disappointing to say the least. I suppose miura just wanted her romance with guts to be the highlight

The representation of the Hawk in this part makes me think of the video used for Goodbye Blue Sky in the Pink Floyd movie

I still belive that the behelit that Guts has is ment for Casca. Casca still has a major role to play. It was about this trio for so long. And i think she was more broken than guts. Guts on the other hand did his job to protect her until she can react with the behelit and seems that he doesnt have more stamina left in him. He is almlst done sadly😢😢

Am I the only one who's seeing Casca being in a casket and hears like an ominous pun in her name?

To my brothers and sisters revisiting this, keep struggling. Even if you're alone, know that this community loves you. Miura San would want that.

wouldn't the coffin that's chained to guts represent the "inescapable death" that zod warned him of?

Dream Hound Guts in the berserker armour using the Dragonslayer with his tail reminded me a lot of Blade Wolf / LQ84i from Metal Gear Rising
