I love all your Spirit Island videos ♥️♥️♥️ This spirit looks really interesting, I'm now looking forward to play it. The first one I played was Ocean's Hungry Grasp and it has become my all-time favorite. Lure of the Deep Wilderness is supposed to work in a kind of similar way but I'll decide to play him first whenever I get the expansion depending on whether I like what I see in your review

Thanks so much Dany, you really encourage me :) You know I have tried to play Lure of the Deep Wilderness twice now and I just can't mange him yet.. gotta give him another try at an easier level.

Stop reminding me of what I don't have!!! :P Hee hee, ok I could go on Tabletop Simulator and play him, but I want to wait for the physical box to come through! :D I may make an exception if my friends want a multiplayer game online though - but if I'm going to pick my first Jagged Earth spirit to try, I'm thinking Many Minds or Burning Plague catch my fancy the most.

Many minds is amazing. I have never lost with that spirit in solo play (or any play). You kind of do the same trick over and over but the fear generation and its defense capabilities is an insane combination.

I just played my first Jagged Earth game and I have chosen “Many Minds Move as One”. It was great. So doof choice 😁 I hope your box arrives soon 🤞 We also tried in this game the new river scenario which is Tower Defense like - crazy things happen on the board and fear seems to be the only path to victory 🙈 Ist was fun!

I like Grinning Trickster okay, but I'd like to see a spirit that focuses even more on Strife. Grinning Trickster seems a bit all over the place, which is fine - just a bit odd that we have Beast, Disease, and Wilds heavy spirits, but nothing that seriously focus in on Strife or Badlands like those other spirits do. Personally I might design one of my own. I've found because of his strife placement, though, he pairs up particularly well with Shroud of Silent Mists, who likes to keep damaged towns and cities on the board. His poor energy generation is certainly a problem. I haven't tried playing him with spirits who donate energy to others yet, though. That would definitely help.

It's kind of late, but I DID want to bring up a pretty big rules mistake here, and why you probably didn't like the second level of the innate. "You may forget a power card to gain the just used power card (to hand) and one energy." This means you actually GAIN one energy from getting new cards, but have to give up a card (likely in your discard) to get a minor. The thematics of this is rewarding him for learning new tricks, and not reusing old ones over and over. I feel you'll have a LOT more energy if you're gaining the 1 energy instead of paying it most turns.

How do you blight the island when you have Stone? Doesn’t he allow you to pay to take Blight from the box? Also, a good Strife generator is Lightning if he goes the Pandemonium aspect.
@onepipwonder9153 жыл бұрын
If I remember right, I blighted the island all by myself 🙋 lol
@AzureIV3 жыл бұрын
@@onepipwonder915 But if the Blight is added to a land with Stone's Presence, they can pay to take the Blight from the box, even if another Spirit causes the Blight. I'm going to assume they didn't keep a healthy stock of energy to protect the Island from Blighting.

@@AzureIV You may only use that ability if Stone has presence in the land that is blighting. iirc

This is one of my top 3 favorite Spirits. He is super consistent for my play style. I rush the three card plays as soon as possible and use that as my energy generation every other turn. I grab as many 0-1 cost minor powers with the air element that I can, so every turn I am adding an extra strife token. I use Incite the Mob as often as I can. A city with Strife will take out a town and an explorer which will generate three fear for the cost of 1. A lot of the powers I end up with usually involve Dahan movement, so they will usually clean up the Cities afterwards. The energy management is not bad with this guy because I rarely use major powers with him.
@onepipwonder9153 жыл бұрын
this is great! thanks for commenting. do you play him solo, two plyer or multiplayer usually? I ask because I have only played him two player on three occasions. I find it hard not to feel like I need to reclaim every other growth which makes presences and hand building really slow.
@danielmarlett14213 жыл бұрын
@@onepipwonder915 He plays similarly solo and multiplayer. I've never actually played with other players physically (quarantine and wife has no interest) but I often play two to four handed. Once I get to three card plays and an element or two I am usually not terribly worried about placing more presence. So usually I am pulling in three energy from my plays plus grabbing a new card or reclaiming if I have to. That usually leaves a lot of extra energy to multiply strife. I rarely have to use overenthusiastic arson in the mid to late game so he isn't the liability to the team he could be. That power and unexpected tigers usually get replaced by a super helpful card or two from Let's See What Happens. And as another commenter mentioned the second tier of that power gives you energy. It doesn't take long to have the perfect stockpile of cheap cards with the elements you want. In my multi-handed games he usually has his board thoroughly locked down and he ends up moving his presence to give the other spirits a defensive assist.

One of my favorite spirits. Early Strife helps avoid the first ravage, inate allows whatever to happen and I love that chaos. Why don't you and them fight?! just all round fun. Get a beast in with Surprise Tigers, have the beast smash the city for 2 dmg, have the Dahan to finish it off. I love this spirit.
