Meh. If science can't measure souls, then how can prove a spirit is still alive when its no longer in a body? Sure, they're still there, but the head and the body are broken and aren't breathing anymore. From the outside perspective its just as much something comes back when the body is repaired as it didn't leave. There's philosophy to science; Kitty's the kind of person who always states her opinion as fact, but there are still other ways to interpret what happens given the evidence before us. Its not like anyone is going to allow the scientists to test it out enough to eliminate those other options.

Corn is having a rough time right now. He's been a rattlesnake with arms, been affected by the mercy bow, then mirror magic was involved, became an axolotl, a rattlesnake with zero arms, and sad reflection boy. His human appearance has changed a lot too

Huh, reminds me a bit of elves in Tolkein’s work. Not fully, but all the same longevous and immortal, while the Spirits here in No Evil can’t seemingly be killed physically, they like the Elves seem to come to an eventually conclusion that their time has run and it’s time to leave after no doubt centuries of experience and working to what greater purpose their existence entails. Just instead of sailing west for Valinor like the Elves in Lord of the Rings, the Spirits seem to willingly let themselves pass on typically for a greater purpose or reason that needs them to pass.

@@HunterNull87 I thought of it as their magic melts away. Murder in the comic has rainbow feathers, then has black feathers after the red Tez. The original 3 mentioned I thought was equivalent exchange, they wanted big magic to happen, they supplied all of themselves as the magic price. Murder only lost her spirit form/lifespan, because the triplets also gave a portion of themselves they lost forever.

Okay that final frame of Black Bart being surrounded by the others. Its onminous. He may have control of the black, but he's human. His life is finite. So what happened is that he reset. ANd Murder must have been getting up there in age. Say a mid 20s early 30s when se did the binding. Meaning she would be in her 40s to 50s now. So with Bart taking the icons of of the binding from the 3 sages and the part inside the Red Poker. He has reset the clock on the binding. His life that he seems so willing to throw into danger. Honestly I get why Kitty would be so worried. They have more time now, but a far more volatile host. They need the find the user for the Mercy Bow and the Blue Blade. Bart isn't a perinate solution.

Well, I don't wanna give a long winded explanation, so I'm going with a short example that uses something foreign (to Germanic native faiths). An elf is basically the concept of remembrance put into a story capable form. So... WWJD. What would Jesus do? That's Jesuses elf. If you remember Jesus, if you emulate Jesus, then Jesus is not only the closest thing to immortal "while still on earth", but can also pseudo father children. A tolkien Elf? That's the Elf of what Tolkien wants his invented Elves to be. What's an elf on the shelf? An elf on the shelf is an elf, of the concept of a santas helper who sits on a shelf, that people call elf on a shelf. This immortality through remembrance is the reason why they are often connected with poetry , songs and stories, in stories, and of course, having a long life if not immortality. Cause it's true. It really is true. If you are remembered 1000 years later as you were, and even emulated, then you basically reincarnate as anyone who follows your conduct to a T. That said. Well yeah okay human bodies end at some point and turn into wormfood. But that's only true death if noone remembers you. And when that happens, who can say you ever lived at all without some leftover evidence? But that's remembrance too.

I believe the parts about Spirits being durable, long-living, and magical; all that is demonstrated. But how does she know that Tlaloc, Tepeolotl, & Coyolxaoqui are still alive in any way that they'll be able to "see again" later? From where did she get that idea, and how did she confirm it? Eh, it probably is because they think it is. The magic of this setting seems to be reactive according more to the intuitive interpretations of those interacting with it than consistent, unbiased demonstrability. Frankly, it's no wonder the spirits and the industrial men don't tend to get along (except for Xochiquetzal and the Headmaster of the school).
