I just laid off a guy that thinks crystals will heal you and your soul. Guy threw a huge tantrum and started cursing people out so I guess he didn't bring his crystals that day. Oof shit me too man. Except at 12 I was struggling with depression and anxiety, so in my little kid head I went "gee, I wonder why I'm so sad and bummed out all the time?". Then Spirit Science being a cult and all sold me the "You're feeling down and depressed because you're THE CHOSEN ONE! And are special and spiritually enlightened!" Unfortunately for me I didn't snap out of it until years later and it's left me very fucked up. I ended up going years without therapy and care from mental health professionals because I was so desperate to try their "self-cures" via good vibes I guess? Doesn't help that their main cure all is "It's your fault lmao, just think happy thoughts" when I was being emotionally abused. Very glad I snapped out of it eventually. It caused me so much stress.

@goodpol5022
@goodpol5022 2 жыл бұрын
@@Daniel-pu6yk I was raised in a blue state by libertarian parents. My neighbors are Catholic and my mom has casual conversation with the mother about everything spiritual… and they agree all the time somehow. I’ve also been best friends with their daughter for longer than I could remember. So I come from a pretty open environment. I did go to a religious school on Saturdays which I found annoying. Their teachings were also very weird, they taught some very “assimulated” form of Hinduism that tried to mash several religions together (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism) and said “no matter the religion, we all worship the same God.” This led to some incredibly dumb contradictions in teachings. I don’t remember the specifics but basically we celebrated Christmas and everything and something that still gets me to this day is them saying “The pilgrims came to America because the king wouldn’t let them worship at the temple they wanted to.” I was 6 and I still find that funny to this day. I started having doubts when I was 7. I just couldn’t find meaning in my praying and whenever I thought of God I thought of some Zeus like figure. I wasn’t’t necessarily uneducated about my religion. I know quite a lot about the systems that make it work. It just wasn’t forced down my throat enough by my right libertarian parents for me to think of it uncritically. And once I started thinking about it critically, it all started to fall apart. I called myself an atheist by ten and dropped out of the religious school by 11. I didn’t want to tell my parents so I told them “I’m not an atheist! I just believe in a god that has literally none of the characteristics of God except omnipresence!” Them with their hyper-malleable view of religion fell for this. It wasn’t until I was 13 that I blurted out that I was an atheist to my mom in an argument about veganism. Her response was a “really?” and not much else. She tried to get an answer out of me later and tried to reconvert me but failed miserably. She is not the best debater and has low stamina for conversations with me. Anyway my atheism had pretty much zero effect with how I interact with other Hindus and other people in general. TL;DR: I just thought it was dumb.

Interesting thing about Loki being Jormangandr, Fenrir, and Hela's dad, is that when that horse fucking was happening, it was actually Loki shapeshifting into a female horse, seducing a male horse to fuck him, resulting in Loki becoming pregnant and giving birth to his badass kids. The incel marvel fans who complained about Loki being Bisexual in the show apparently had no idea he's literally been anything but straight, since the inception of Norse mythology. I dated this guy from my tech college for like, three weeks when I was 18-19, which devolved into a stalking/harassment situation for about half a year after I broke things off with him (super clingy, already calling himself my boyfriend, spoke in a way that revealed his very transactional view of relationships). While I was dealing with this, one of our mutual acquaintances, an older lady (~late 50’s) who was also a student at the college confided in me that she’d always sensed a bad energy hanging around him, she mentioned giving him a crystal pendant and doing rituals for his sake to try and give him peace, I guess? Idk, she wasn’t very coherent on a good day. But of course she never once warned me about her suspicions about his character and instead she actively urged us to pair up. I have the vivid memory of fighting back the urge to spit in her face in that moment. Edit: to clarify, I didn’t mean THIS guy, just a different messed up dude. Sorry for the confusion 😅

Needless to say, I was pissed by the utter tone-deafness. They just make up crazy connections in their heads, then babble them out and accept them as reality with no consideration or awareness either of themselves or the people around them they might affect with their nonsense. This kind of thinking has always worried me, but I have no idea how to address it. @@keyboardstalker4784 Yes, Henry the VIII did in order to be able to marry Anne Boleyn, who he ended up executing about 3 years later. A bonus result of him “converting” the country to Protestantism was filling the royal treasury with riches robbed from many monasteries and amassing a lot of land previously owned by the Church, which he either took for himself or gave to loyalists. The downside was a decades old religious schism, which led to either Catholic or Protestants being hunted and burned at the stake, depending on who was on the throne (Henry the VIII or his fanatical daughter Mary).

Interestingly, I was a part of the community at one time and have communicated directly with Jordan. At the time I was a moderator for his forums and he was actually very authoritarian and tended to have very cult like tendencies (speaking in grandiose terms, lacking specifics, wanting things in his way and marketing himself as right without proper reasoning). At the time he had a relationship/friendship with an older guy who facilitated his brain-rot further (think his name was Ray). The community of moderators (myself included), challenged him on his views frequently. Eventually, the majority of people started to either leave or split to a movement called the "Bayesian Conspiracy" which I was affiliated with. We worked together to try and be against the cult-like movement within spirit science by spreading reliable science and reasoning (though sometimes I did a fair amount of shit-posting and trolling since I was much younger then). I cared about the people there quite a bit, but not so much about Jordan or Ray. Eventually the original forums fell apart and our whole team disbanded since we couldn't be controlled by him and Ray. No idea what happened after that, but it was sad for me to see a person who was a genuine truth-seeker when he first started devolve into a cult-leader.

Basically, all the sea that Russia does touch is too cold/frozen for it to use for naval endeavors, at least year-round, making it essentially landlocked. That little piece in Europe is essential to Russia because it uses it because it is the only access that is has to the ocean that it viable for its navy. It also explains why Russia wants the Crimea so badly, so they can have better access to the ocean.

You don't exactly mend the bone, for instance, you merely set it and keep it in its place while the body knits the bones back together. Telling a lifelong Aquarius that they're really Capricorn can provoke some severe introspection.

You're correct about the animation expressions thing - I made the same comment about a Prager U video - how the characters were "bouncing around" for no reason other than their mouths were moving - and someone confirmed for me that the type of animation program used for this does exactly what you described (keyframing movements to expressions), except used in the laziest, most amateur way it could be utilized. In the aforementioned video, they had literally keyframed the entire body to the mouth movement, so it looked like the characters were talking with their hips.

that creation myth Vaush came up with sounds to me like the type of myth you'd see from people whose ancestors were birds or some other egg-layer. After all, egg-layers copulate, an then they see things that get created before them as a result not just babies, actual things out of which things (the babies and needed parts) emerge. And eggs can be used as tools, in a way that placentas and other afterbirth cannot. So if an egg-layer (some kind of alien, say) had a spiritual outlook, that might be a common type of creation myth among them, across cultures on any of those planets where the people lay eggs.

in the old canaanite pantheon, the one which judaism was ultimately based on (that and other mesopotamian myths) there is the cycle of ba'al, every year it would happen that ba'al the rain and storm god and his sister anath the huntress goddess would go down to the sheol, the canaanite underworld (equivalent to hades, they didn't have hell) which was ruled by mot, the god of death, then according to the myth the two would face off mot, at the beginning of summer mot would eat ba'al and kill him, this caused the beginning of summer, then throughout all of summer and autumn anath his sister would fight mot until she would kill mot at the beginning of winter and resurrect her brother, thus bringing back the life giving rains of the winter, mot would then be revived by the end of spring, thus the cycle begins again.
