Secret Garden was written before Holy Roller. So as far as people criticizing the bands “direction,” this answers that. Also, Courtney said Holy Roller isn’t even the hardest song on the album.. get ready.

Exactly. This is going to be a great album. I think Courtney said that Yellowjacket (ft. Sam Carter from Architects) is the hardest song on there.

I love how the bass feels very forefront in their songs, adds heaviness and groove
@ragingstorm793 жыл бұрын
This song is a real callback to their oldest songs, especially how it comes in. Bit of a combo between Trust Fall and Perennial (check these out if you haven't and want to hear their "older" stuff!). Super hyped for this album, they're just effortlessly cool. Courtney saying the album is a cross between Deftones and Slipknot is pretty intriguing though!
@xanthelinhs21433 жыл бұрын
Courtney said this song was written before a lot of the singles last year, so I'd say less of a call back and more of a progression of that sound!
@fadence3 жыл бұрын
Yea that verse riff that the boys were drooling over reminded me of their much earlier stuff so would make sense if it was written a lot longer ago. This album is going to be enormous!

These guys are soooo good! Their guitar work is amazing and Courtney’s vocals are honestly the best female vocals I’ve heard in a long time in this genre. This album has me so stoked that I agree with the boys it’ll definitely be a roller coaster ride of up and down heaviness plus there will definitely be a lot of emotion in the music as well
@kylebirdsall99443 жыл бұрын
@@jasonlovesmusicreacting882 I’m not sure this was meant to be a rift song. This was meant more for a simple in between song for the album just something to bring you back to earth and then they melt your face again

I’ve heard it said that on this album Holy Roller will be in the middle of the track listing with Constance at the end so it creates sort of a dynamic roller coaster on the album that peaks in the middle and tapers off toward the end. If this is true, then I also appreciate how they even thought that out well instead of just throwing a bunch of cool songs together!
@jeffturbo9043 жыл бұрын
This is correct. Courtney said so herself.

I just found this band when this song came out and have been listening to them ever since loving all of it. I can't help but wonder if the band/label are releasing these different songs with the strategy of luring in several different fan bases at once. All I can say is I almost never listened to heavy/screaming but I'll be damned if I foot isn't firmly planted way inside that door now! I'm here for it
