I purchased a Spitzlift to load my motorcycle in my pickup truck several years ago. After looking at ramps and the risk of walking the bike up a ramp and cost of a long enough ramp to reasonably reach my higher-than-normal bed height, I went for the Spitzlift. Good decision, very versatile. Have used it to haul BBQ units, motorcycles, boat motors, lawn tractors, pellet stove, appliances, propane tanks, barrels, etc. I bolted the base plate to the bed and welded the tube under the bed to the frame. Truck has airbags for stiffness; very stable. Single person load and unload unless, as they say, its' parked on an incline. Considering the RISK of back strain/injury in moving heavy items, this solution has paid for itself many times over. I want to continue to walk upright without the use of medications. You may want to as well.
