SPl Phonitor 2 The Best Headphone Amp for Studio or Home

I've been using the 1st version of Phonitor for 9 years. Mixing and mastering is impossible without it. One of the rare devices that is really worth it's price. Love it!!!! I use it in pair with Audeze LCD-2. Totally recommend to get it.

Hi Germo, The Phonitor is based off the 120V technology which is a real audiophile experience. If you add the expansion rack it can become a monitor control for 3 sets of speakers. If you get the Phonitor X instead of the 2 and the expansion rack, you now can have digital inputs, RCA consumer inputs, balanced headphone out, plus the speaker select. It is a real nice full function monitor controller. I would say if you are going to spend your money, speakers, Headphones, Monitor controller/headphone amp, and AD/DA and acoustics is where you start to have the best absolute sound. Everything else can come later and have as much color as you want. So if you use headphones or need a monitor controller, it is really top notch on the pro side and in the Hi-Fi world.

If you do not have proper treatment, then using headphones eliminates the room issue. Which is good. But now you need a trusted source to listen too. This would be an accurate pair of headphone and an accurate headphone amp. The Phonitor meets that need and ads the ability to use the headphones as if they were speakers eliminating the super wide effect with it's crossfeed matrix. I would not use the perspective that Phonitor give that extra something sound wise It would be a better perspective to say it is not taking anything away compared to other inferior amps that are not replicating the true source, or properly driving the headphone to its truest potential of sound quality. This is what I mean by absolute.

Why doesn't it have a digital input? It seems like this would be a superior experience with FLAC files and streaming (MQA?).
