Thanks for Watching! Sorry I haven't uploaded a new video in a while, I have been very busy in real life (re: lazy), but expect more regularly debuting videos from me in the near future. But that's not to say I haven't been featured in any content! For the past (several) Wednesday nights, I've been on Splatoon Livestreams on aSquidMin's Channel (kzbin.info/door/o-DebFIa8gFEcrasbn-veQ) with other Splatoon KZbinrs, where first we play some League Battle, and then we go into Private Battles with Viewers, where anyone (including you) can jump in and play with/against us!! Finally, I recently built my own somewhat high-end desktop PC, which means a) no more video editing on a laptop which means the videos (should) come out faster, b) I will soon start livestreaming as well, both here on KZbin and a little bit on Twitch too! It will probably take me a few more weeks to get everything set up, but don't worry, it'll happen soon c) but before I start streaming, I will do something that has been requested by a lot of people, and that is make a Captain Astronaut Discord Server, where everyone can hang out and be nice and share memes and such. But I will let you all know when that is all happening! And it will all be very soon! Great video. Allow me to provide some of my insights: Imma be real with you chief these things SUCK at turfing. And in a game where area control matters a lot that’s... not good. It makes up for it with its 4 rolls, but if you’re looking to take a zone or clear a path for the Rainmaker/Power Clam, it’s not gonna go well. The main weapon is an excellent slayer though. I’d say the Dark Tetras go all in with the slayer playstyle, using Autobombs to kite opponents into your bullets. With Splashdown not being that great, I’d argue that Respawn Punisher could be a good idea, long as you don’t get trades often. It has a kit that’s... okay, but it works around its lackluster turfing rather well. The Light Tetras have a kit that covers the turfing weakness, making them a viable slayer for Zones. I lean more towards the Light because I cannot STAND not being able to swim smoothly. Ultimately though, it comes down to map, mode, and mood.

Ah yes, good ol' lucky number 4. WRT kits I actually like Sprinklers for area control reasons (I generally opt for a support playstyle), to the point of viewing the extra special charge as little more than a side benefit/consequence, but I *ALSO* like meme-jumping with the Splashdown, and honestly you make a pretty compelling argument for the efficacy of the Dark's chicken use vs. the Light's. Shame that I'm terrible with Dualies as a whole, though. More of a Splatlings kind of guy, myself. And of course, it would not be a Captain Astro video without a *stealth* segment or two.

If we're comparing the slide to Chapter 26 Jaffar in FE7, then the regular shots are Nino in Chapter 26: Unreliable and you'll only use it if you want to lose.

You kinda forgot one last mechanic almost everyone misses when using/talking about these dualies: they shoot while dodging. Take a look at any of the dualies and they all need to roll, cutting off your shots and increasing your chances of dying due to not damaging enough. The tetras solve this by sliding, they can shoot WHILE dodging, increasing a chance of surviving with one hit left on you, or trading with the enemy. A lot of people don’t realize the “slide while shooting” mechanic as something worthwhile (as seen, you didn’t realize it so you could talk about it) so maybe try using this hidden technique to really lay on the pressure and score some pretty badass moments?

8:49 I wouldn't say THAT. A single autobomb from an autobomb rush is still at LEAST as powerful as a normal autobomb. I'd say it's more a matter of diminishing returns. Like, if you're putting in the effort to dodge ONE autobomb, it's not that much work to dodge 4 other autobombs as well.
