OH MY GOD BUT YOU MISSED THE BEST PART OF THE OPENING SCREEN If you look at the Game Pad during startup, it'll actually show you a map of the room that you see on the TV in the same style as the maps seen during actual gameplay, and it's actually perfectly accurate right down to the splotches of ink that the Inkling has left on the floor as they ran out of the room.

Yopix I've accidentally done thinking I've had a sprinkler when trying out different weapons. You can kinda do stuff when playing with different weapons. Another instance of this is when I thought I had a kraken and I gonna go up to the opponents kill them but I forgot I had Inkstike and I completely exposed myself :/

Well it depends, some maps getting back to spawn is a pain, so snipers might put one to super jump back to when they get in trouble, assuming its far enough from spawn, like he lower left platform on hammerhead bridge. You can super jump back to spawn by itself, so as long as its a bit away i guess... other then that its pointless to put one at spawn

I'm glad Chugga shares my newfound love with the Cherry Nose. The Splash Wall really lowers the enemys options, which fixes the Nose Family's main problem: Accuracy. The enemy has three options if you throw a Splash Wall. Option 1: Retreat. Just like Pokemon, gotta Pursuit (especially if it's a damn Rotom). Pretty much just chase them if you see them or know where they are going. If not, just let em go. This is the hardest option to deal with, but thankfully, not many people do it, and when they do, there isn't really anywhere to go. I see this often with Snipers, Rollers, people/weapons that suck at fighting.Option 2: Swim around. Although you cannot see squids swimming in ink (easily), the wall forces them to go left or right. This is why I reccomend to check Recon to find Splash Wall spots. You mainly want ways to give them one way around the Wall, making them predictable. I see this often with Shooters, Rollers, and Krakens. Option 3: Stay infront of the Splash Wall and move around while shooting it, commonly through Dolphin Jumps (Jumping in and out of Ink). Eventually, you should take them out. If you run three Damage Up subs, this is made easier, because each time you miss, the ground gets covered more. They step in it, then you get the One Two SPLAT. Shooters and Rollers tend to love this option. If the counters don't work (which is rare), you can fall back on the Bubbler, to finish the kill or jump away. The Cherry Nozzlenose is great with Sub Saver, Three Damage Up, and Special Duration or Special Up in general. Also, can I mention how COOL this weapon looks!?

When I first got the game, I did all of the single-player stuff before jumping into multiplayer myself. Not for the weapons, but because it was a new game with unique mechanics and heavy focus on learning gyro aiming, and I figured I needed to take a little time to learn how to play it before I butted heads with other people. And the single-player is actually pretty well-designed to ensure you've learned the basics of turfing and fighting, I feel. The bosses are the brightest examples of it; just to cover the ones we've already done, the Octostomp makes sure you know how to paint and climb up walls quickly, the Octonozzle wants you to strafe attacks and shoot small targets, and the Octowhirl has you covering as much solid turf in a short time as you can. That kind of efficiency and accuracy plays a huge part, so I see Octo Valley as basically the training grounds for the online play. It works.

Been waiting for this one for so long! I picked up the H-3 around 4 months ago and gave it a try and it quickly became my favorite weapon in the game! Personally I prefer to use the vanilla set for most things, but the Cherry is my go-to weapon in rainmaker. I don't use the splash wall as much as I probably should, but the number of times that bubbler helped us get to the goal far outweighs the small amount of use that I'd get from echolocator in a mode where I know that everyone is rushing the guy with the "flag"! Especially since I usually take up the task of escorting whoever took up the job of carrying the rainmaker.

I figured out why you like the Cherry H-3 Nozzlenose. Because it's so similar to the standard .52 Gal. Think about it. Powerful shots with long range, able to kill really quickly if you aim right, and paired with a splash wall.

52 splats reliably, but due to its accuracy- not always fast. And it most certainly doesn't have range, it's a 2-liner with unusable falloff, while H3 is a 3-line gun with a ton of spare damage.

Yo, TSN main here, I also mained old H3s for a long time, and Chugga definitely didn't do them justice in some aspects. H stands for hard, not heavy, but it also stands for "holy carp, this thing is awesomeballs!" First off, its mobility is actually pretty great! It locks you in kid position for a while and that does hurt survivability, but it wholesomely compensates with long, solid, fat path of ink it shoots out each burst. Think of it as a big american muscle car as opposed to puny imports that know the word "cornering"- it's fast, but in a different way. Its strafe speed, while slower than L3's, is still better than most other weapons in the game, as it slightly outspeeds Splattershot and everything with the same speed- Spla/oosh, Aerospray, Junior, Tri-Slosher, et cetra- which leaves the only weapons with better strafe being its brother, the minigun, lil' nostalgia twig and the sloshmo. Second- it's absolutely possible to be consistent with its one-burst splats even without damage up. It is, however, hard as hзll, your prediction game, aim and trigger discipline all must be perfect. It also hates squidding people because it can't reveal them without locking itself in animation. Echo really helps with all of that, exactly why I consider Cherry the slightly inferior kit as it needs support to reach its full potential, while other two are almost self-sufficient. Alternatively, since your time to splat is just one frame slower than that of Carbon, you can pretend you're one and smack people down point-blank for fun and profit. In both cases, it's much easier when enemy doesn't know of your prescense and actively try to evade because that is indeed your natural counter. Enter Ninja Squid. H3 is possibly the best gun to slap your old pink shirt or anchor tee on. Another thing is, H3 inks better than most other weapons in the game. The same long fat patch that lets it move around also provides spotless coverage at incredible range. It really loves having ink control as well. Its efficiency is also top-notch, the only saver you will ever need is special saver- or maybe sub if you go Cherry. Overall, H3 has something over any weapon in the game, be it quicker splat, longer range or better mobility (in case of blasters and Gals), and your real challenge is to evaluate which card to play against who- all the other stuff comes with muscle memory.

TheLaXandro About your point in which you state that you consider the cherry inferior to the others because it can only reach its full potential as a support: I have to respectfully disagree with that (I loved the your comment btw and for maining such an underrated weapon). Splatoon is a team oriented game which requires teammates to fulfil their roles on their respective teams to win. A supportive set like the cherry can be leaps more valuable to a team than the vanilla H3 that does better in sustaining itself. And even if we are talking about weapons by themselves, the cherry has a kit that ensures you have a greater chance of staying alive than the other H3s. Combine that with the H3s offensive power and you have a weapon kit that covers both defensive and offensive options. Well, that's just my opinion.

Daniel Orefuwa Agree, when you can choose your teammates in squads, Cherry is as good as or even better than the other two, but in solo queue it often has to go in blind, which limits it greatly, forcing you to play very defensively. On a team with no echo Cherry is inferior to more forgiving 96 Deco. Blues are self-sustainable, which makes them able to fit on almost any team comp.

Thanks to your bios I've now gotten up to rank A- with the new weapons you got me using. Still think ranked mode has far more issues than turf war though. Ways to improve ranked mode: -if you disconnect you don't lose points -as soon as someone on your team drops you don't lose ANY rank points for a loss, the other team still get there's for winning so the fight wasn't a waste -Once you reach a rank you can't drop back down one, you'll go to 0 and have a longer climb to the next rank but you won't rank down (As an aside, rainmaker is just trash, you just can't rely on your team to help at all)

I agree, you shouldnt lose rank for disconnecting but it would be stupid if you got to a rank, you couldnt go back down. thats the whole point of ranked.

You forgot to mention the gampad screen for that starting screen that's also pretty cool. It shows a map similar to the ones that show up in matches and it shows the layout of the room and even shows the ink on floor like how it shows the ink on the map in game. A nice detail.

I'm surprised you didn't show the Gamepad in the startup screen. It has a map that outlines your room and even has the player and the ink blots on the right places just like the TV screen! These little details make Splatoon really special.
