To get them to replant you have to set a farm zone then go to the rooms tab click on the farm zone and set the crop you want them to replant and harvest. Only one plant can be set to a farm zone, and to place seperate farm zones reclick the farm room laying button and it will allow you to place a seperate farm zone next to eachother. I set 1X10 lines next to eachother and plant all my crops like that.

I do find this game addictive in the same way as dwarf fortress but its hard to find info or videos on it, I hope the developer keeps adding content as it has a lot of promise. They did an update recently that does a lot of QOL improvements. Works great on steamdeck as well which is were Ive been playing lately!
@ladams3912 жыл бұрын
I'm definitely going to have to give this game a try, I absolutely love these types of games.....in theory. Dwarf Fortress and RimWorld are great and without a doubt some of the most impressive games ever made, but I feel like there's always an ever-increasing number of fires that need to be put out simultaneously, both figuratively and literally. While some tension in a game from time to time is fun and I always love a healthy challenge, my doctor says I'm going to blow my heart up if I don't find a way to calm down sometimes, and games are one of the few things that can help me do that. A colony sim with a good amount of granular control over the workings of your colony that doesn't feel like an anxiety attack simulator sounds like my dream game.
@JC-dt5fs2 жыл бұрын
You can adjust the difficulty of Rimworld so it is less anxiety inducing. I have a chill colony that I play to relax.

That's kinda how I feel. That's why I started making my own game that relies on micro management. I want to know what all my people are up to. Additionally I always dislike how absurdly speedy those games can be. Like you can die of hunger a lot faster than is realistically possible. People can actually survive multiple weeks without food as long as they have water.

Another good one if you like to dig is Capt of Industry... I enjoyed just digging up the dirt and moving it around the map... there is also a factory management game there.... but for me the fun is just have a bunch of trucks hauling dirt around and changing up the landscape... not sure the developers had that in mind, but it reminds me of playing in the backyard with toy trucks... long before video games existed... =D Happy Fun times!

I couldn't agree more with what you said about the game and masters channelling complexity through simple aesthetics. At a glance it's bit of a blur and if you take the time to look at the details, animations for instance, there's so much care and efforts in making everything look alive.

Fun game, probably my favorite of the Dwarf Fortress-likes just due to being simple and straightforward. I too am having a tough time with the AI. They don't always seem to properly follow the priority system, and it's very easy for one of them to get so engaged in what they're doing that they just starve to death. It's a good thing new waves of settlers come fairly frequently.

Farms have the same management as other rooms. You go to the rooms menu and set the crop you want.
@Ambelghan2 жыл бұрын
You need to build rooms to deal with persistent farms. Then switch it to the production of that room and add a job to plant a seed. Another bonus, event panel can be searched, just hold shift and start typing and the panel you're in will index, keep holding shift to maintain the search, release to clear it. Everything is assigned and used by rooms and associating with production.

Atlatl's (first people in Australia called it a woomera) use a form of gearing not centrifical force. It would make more sense if we had them during the great migration when humans spread out across the world from Africa. WARNING Essay Incomming - APPARENT centrifical force is when an object with momentum pushes against a centrifugally moving object. A person in a car has the same momentum as the car. When the car turns, the person tries to continue in the same direction that the car was travelling before it started turning & pushes against the car as a result.... Centrifical force isn't real, it only APPEARS to be a force from the perspective of the object under momentum.

The lack of good tutorial is a weakness for this game, or rather the UI too. A youtuber - Thomas Sanjurjo, has two good vid tutorials on starting foundational stuff as of this year, but even that may be outdated with the updates changing mechanics around. It's a pretty steep learning curve. It's not as intuitive a UI as I'd love it to be.

Do you, or anyone playing this game, have an issue where your settlers start idling forever, even ignoring their needs for food, drink, and sleep? I was able to fix this issue, but I wonder if there is a better solution. I found out the problem was that I made a home that had 2 beds, and the couple that chose that home would each choose a separate bed to mate in, causing them both to just stall. I was able to fix it by going in the commands for the home and turning off mating and removing the mate job from the orders, then removing 1 bed so they only had 1 bed to choose for mating. It feels so annoying to have couples or even whole families with just 1 bed though. Anyone know how to make them not die from stupidity while having multiple beds in a home? Like they will just stand there until either I fix it, or they collapse from no energy then start to die of thirst.
