The brand got it's name from the norse goddess Idunn which provides the Aesir with apples of youth. Might also be what "Epli" hints to, a riff on the norwegian word for apple: Eple

Every time Splat says he has to "circle up" and builds INSIDE the chokepoint: defense 101 says shoot INTO the chokepoint, not occupy it, right?!

"Circle up" refers to establishing a perimeter of defense, not a chokepoint. It's a call-back to the Wild West when they would put wagons in a circle when no other defensive options existed on the plains.

Situationally not horrible since all elements are covering each other. If the enemies had explosives, or fought like humans with projectiles, yeah that might be an issue.

Every thing on screen right now is basically what has happened to my ear drums over the last couple of years. Carnage, blood, and death. Thankfully I can still kinda understand you Splat! I probably harp on about this all the time in my comments but you know, I miss out on alot of inflection and tone and context of the videos and what you are saying but I still wanna participate and do that whole KZbin algorithm thing so I just waffle on here lmao. Idun might be a Norse Mythology reference: "In Norse mythology, Iðunn is a goddess associated with apples and youth. Iðunn is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In both sources, she is described as the wife of the skaldic god Bragi, and in the Prose Edda, also as a keeper of apples and granter of eternal youthfulness." Apple colors are Red, Green and Golden ones for Idunn specifically.

@@Damiv These people are never going to make another Firefall. They're not even trying. It has similarities but anyone who loved Firefall and is looking for that, isnt going to find it in Ember.

@@DoctorBendOver There are certainly differences. Firefall was released 10 years ago after all. I would certainly consider it a spiritual successor though, and having played some of the early build, the feel of the mining loop is there. It is a crowdfunded MMO though, and I think we all know what the success rate on those has been. Still, I'm holding out some hope, because we certainly aren't going to get any from any of the AAA studios.
